Italy Tours in October 2025

This was our first tour experience. The pace was a little intense for us, but the size of the group was very appealing. The group was very compatible and the company was delightful. We enjoyed being the only Americans among Aussies and New Zealanders. The active experiences like cooking and painting tiles and access to local small farms and businesses were treats. The tour guide was such a pleasure to be with and extraordinarily knowledgeable, organized, competent and charming. The local guides and the driver were also outstanding.

A great tour, tour leader and tour group. Saverio was an excellent tour leader who mixed well and had exceptional knowledge of all parts of the tour. He was very helpful at all times. Our driver Romulus was also very good and very helpful. With a tour group of all Kiwi's and Aussie's it was lots of fun. Tuscany is a beautiful part of the world. The tour was good value for money with good accommodation and food.

Our guide Antonio was exceptional. He has a solid background and delivery of the varied sites. He was flexible and easily met requests that the group had (in particular the Puppet Show in Palermo- would definitely recommend.) We visited 7 of 8 of Sicily's World Heritage sites, all amazing! Our driver Franco was friendly and always had our safety at the forefront. Hopefully Explore will take our recommendations for looking at differnt hotels in Syracuse (preferably Ortigia Island), not a great location, especially on day of arrival, before meeting up with the group.

Fabio, the tour leader, was incredible. He worked hard to ensure everyone had a good time, he allowed stronger bikers to have fun while also helping weaker bikers to improve and enjoy themselves. Fabio was very knowledgeable about biking, Puglia, Italy, and had a passion for food. He went out of his way to take us to his favourite non touristy restaurants even though he did not have to do so. Most of the tour routes were incredibly scenic and while relatively easy had challenging segments that were fun. The excursion stops were good and informative unlike other tours we have been on where they only wanted you to buy stuff. The hotels were good especially the one in Matera.

Our walk from Assisi to Spoleto was a pinch me moment. At all time the walk was very satisfying and beautiful with spectacular vistas and interesting structures along the way. The combination detailed directions and downloaded map gave us confidence that took the stress out of the adventure and allowed us to relax and focus on the journey. We recommend this walk to anybody of average fitness levels.

Lara is a fantastic guide, she has put together a fabulous trip, with a wide variety of walks and experiences. She obviously knows the locality extremely well, and is keen to share her love of the area with guests. She never stopped making suggestions and recommendations to make our visit as interesting and enjoyable as possible. An excellent trip.
