Italy Sightseeing Trips

We picked this trip because it included the Amalfi coast.. We also loved Lake Maggiore, Milan, Venice, Florence, and Rome.. We were less impressed with lake Como and then Pompei as we went to Herculaneum on our own and found it less crowded and better preserved.

It is busy and jam packed with visits to several major historical sites in several cities from the north lake regions south to the Amalfi coast. Be prepared to get up early to start your tours before the crowds and warm afternoons peak. The optional experiences add up financially but they are worth it. Invest in comfortable shoes/sneakers with arch support. Approximately 12,000 - 14,000 steps per day on cobblestones, uphill, stairs….

It covered Italy from north to south which is what I wanted. I liked being able to spend .more than one night in most places especially the Amalfi coast where we spent three nights I appreciated visiting busy sights in the morning before they got so crowded . I liked having some free time

The tour was amazing! I really liked the medieval towns. I loved Cinque terre and Portofino. I enjoyed the truffle hunting with the dogs a lot! The tour manager Luke was absolutely amazing!

A great way to see Sicily away from the main tourist areas. There was some mud, some territorial dogs to get past and some stiff climbs often at the end of the day to hill towns. But our hosts and other people we met were very welcoming, the food was great and the scenery made the exertion worthwhile. We recommend this walk.

Some were delicious but some were just okay. My husband and would have preferred to select what we wanted to eat more times during the tour. We wanted more down time and a slower pace. In looking back, much of my favorite moments were when we stopped touring for even just a few minutes to enjoy a cup of delicious hot chocolate or green tea, in a quiet place, but even that was rushed and no time to linger or even finish our delicious drink. We had to leave to stay on schedule. That exact thing occurred twice on the tour and we were disappointment both times.
