Reviews of our Italy Tours for March
Feedback from guests who toured Italy during March.
Fun atmosphere, good local guides, very helpful and fun tour manager. Enjoyed local artisans. Enjoyed the boat tours. Got to see so much without feeling rushed. Too many good things to pick one memorable experience!
This tour was very well done. It was nice to sit back and let Collette handle all the planning, driving and carrying the bags! Everything went off without a hitch. Thanks Collette for a great trip!
The Tuscany Tour which began on March 4 was great! I liked all the sites. It was very interesting, very moving to stop by the WWII American Cemetery near Florence. Our local tour guides were all very cordial and my informative. Our tour manager, Alessandro went out of his way to make sure that all our questions & requests were addressed. The family owned vineyard & winetasting, the organic cheese farm, and the meal following our Sunday PM cooking lesson were all well planned & most enjoyable, memorable events
The week of walking on Amalfi coastline surpassed our expectations. We were pleased we had gone out of season (March) as it gets very busy, and hot, in the summer. Our guide, Matteo, was exceptional. He got to know us all quickly and was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and great fun. He has done a lot of work in the area to promote sustainable tourism and has a wide network of contacts. He introduced us to his wonderful parents, who live on a lemon farm in the hills. Matteo gently encouraged us all when it came to more challenging parts of the walks and everyone in our group completed all the walks. He adapted the programme when we had a wet day, to ensure we still had a full and interesting day. Although I don't usually use walking poles in the UK, I did find them useful on the undulating paths and many steps. The walking was glorious. Fantastic views and varied terrain. It was fun using local buses and experiencing the skills of the bus drivers. A memorable holiday!
I loved the Roman extension part of the trip including the optional Roman Serenade dinner with local entertainment. The Tuscany main tour was fantastic with the cooking class being one of my favorite experiences!
Alessandro Picard our tour manager was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been on many European bus tours. He made every day special! He also arranged for our entire group to go the the American WWII cemetery near Florence. My cousin’s uncle had been killed in Italy and was buried there. She wanted to see his grave and had asked Alessandro to arrange a taxi for her during our free time in Florence. Instead he arranged for the entire bus to go. It was a very emotional experience. Everyone was very happy to have seen this place. Mary Ellen was shown the grave. This trip is at the top of my list for my favorite tours.
