Serbia is perhaps best known for its wonderful ski resorts, thanks to its sprawling mountain range in the south of the country. That same mountain range offers great trekking opportunities in the warmer months! For those who aren’t so outdoorsy, head to Belgrade for some sightseeing. Enjoy a food and wine tour, and be sure to taste traditional dishes like pljeskavica - or some plum brandy!

Absolutely the most wonderful trip! We saw so much in 14 days - so many cities, so many countries, so many sites... The on-road team was phenomenal and the group was a lot of fun! Would highly recommend taking this trip.

The countries, itinerary, transportation, tour guide, and food were all exceptionally good. was professional and fun in every situation. We would highly recommend this trip to our friends.

I really enjoyed the Balkans Tour. However, it was rather rushed. We covered a vast distance. Perhaps we could have stayed for 2 nights at each place. There were some places where we did stay for 2 nights, and this allowed for some time to 'breathe'.

The itinerary was an excellent history lesson about how Yugoslavia broke up in the early 90s. Each and every stop was interesting and the local tour guides were excellent. The tour never got boring and all of the cities were different. Our Tour Director, was 5-star! For the most part, the hotels were good to excellent and the meals were also mostly very good. I highly recommend this tour.

Lots of new places and things to see and visit. Two days on the coach had long riding days. A few of the morning "coffee stops" had less than optimal bathroom facilities, but there probably wasn't anything else available in the locations where we were. Two of the hotels could have been a little better. The leadership, "" was terrific, knowledgeable and handled the group well. The group worked together well. Some of the optional activities should have been included in the original cost.

Our travel director, was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable about the history of each country we visited, never made us feel rushed, and consistently went above and beyond. Our driver, was also excellent; he navigated some very narrow and crowded streets with ease. The tour itself—the Balkans—exceeded all my expectations. The history, the people, and the food were all wonderful. I highly recommend Trafalgar!

Serbia Tours — Highlights and Travel Tips

Serbia is a southern European, Balkan country, known for having a wide variety of popular national parks and ski resorts. There are plenty of things to do in Serbia, whether you are planning a trip in the summer or winter. Kopaonik, a ski resort, is one of the most popular ski destinations in the world. Not only are Serbians welcoming toward foreigners, but most are comfortable speaking English. Geography and climate varies based upon which part of Serbia you plan to visit. For example, while to the north there are miles of plains beautiful to behold, to the South there are gorgeous mountains to witness.

Travel Highlights

  • Watch the majestic mountain range in Kopaonik National Park. It also serves as ski and snowboard park.
  • Check out the two, medieval marble churches that even contain some historic Byzantine artwork in Studenica Monastery.
  • Hike the mountains in Tara National Park while catching a glimpse of the beautiful Drina river.
  • Try some of the popular Serbian foods like a delicious bacon wrapped chicken dish. For dessert, be sure to make a stop for some sweets at a 24-hour bakery.

Travel Tips

  • Expect the unexpected. Your plans may need to alter, and you never know, that could be a good thing.
  • Get out early. You can sleep the day away when you're at home, but when you're in a foreign country you only have so much time to do once in a lifetime activities.
  • Don't take yourself, or life, too seriously. Traveling involves stress, but you don't have to let that stress ruin your vacation.
