Honest insights from past guests on our Food Italy tours

I rated the accommodations good rather than excellent only because the second hotel had a train track next to it, and trains ran all of the time. We loved our tour manager. He was wonderful! We also loved the cooking class, wine shop tasting, Stresa, Siena, glassblowing, Gondola ride, our hotel room in Venice, Carrara Marble Quarries, villages of Cinque Terre.d

A wonderful tour of the main sights of Sicily (and there are a lot!). It's an amazing place to visit. Hotels really well located. Antonio is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, coupled with huge enthusiasm and great organisational skills. Perfect choices of restaurants for group meals. We have travelled with Explore for many years and all tour leaders have been excellent, but he is certainly one of the best we have ever had. It's a particular bonus that he is the tour guide everywhere as well as the tour leader.

Excellent holiday- the scenery is stunning. This walking tour is marked Leisurely/Moderate but I think all the walks were moderate, because the terrain is challenging at times. Walking poles & good supportive boots are a must. That being said, our amazing guide Satva ensured the whole group walked within their capabilities, offering alternatives if anyone felt the whole walk wasn’t for them. Satva helped to create a wonderful group experience, she is fun, caring & has a great singing voice! I would definitely recommend her as an amazing tour leader. I throughly enjoyed myself.

Fantastic trip with a great itinerary and an epic tour leader. Couldn’t have asked for more except maybe another night in Pisa at the beginning and a softer bed in Buonconvento!

Our tour guide Alberto was wonderful. Personable, great sense of humor, caring, knowledgeable, made the trip so enjoyable. Our bus driver, Giovonni, was excellent, safe driver, kept the bus clean, very sweet man. This was my first trip to Europe. My husband had died two months prior to the trip so I was feeling fragile and unsure about going. But everyone on this small group tour was so friendly, supportive and just a joy to be with. It provided me with a little healing time when I needed it most. I loved all of the places we visited, the. guides explained so much history to us. When I go antiquing in the US now, nothing will look old like in Italy! I loved the cathedrals, amazing how they could be built without the tools we have today, and they last for hundreds of years! All of our hotels were clean and served good food.. Vienna hotel was the only one that disappointed. The hotel seemed not as clean as the others and the food and coffee at breakfast was always cold or just warm. I fell in love with Tuscany. So similar to our Napa Valley and Sonoma California area. I applaud the Italians for not crowding grapes all over their Tuscan hills like we to in the Napa Valley. It is nice to see some clean, tree covered hills as you drive through the area. Alberto surprised us by taking us to the American WWII Memorial site at the end of the day and several of our group participated in the lowering of the Flag at sunset. Very special for us and so thoughtful of Albie to surprise with this little extra to our day. I could not be happier with my first tour with Collett. Thank you so much.

A good mix of sights to see and unique things to experience. Our tour guide was great and told us things about the history of the area that really enhanced the trip.
