Steeped in history, shrouded in mystery, the city of Venice floating on a lagoon has barely changed in 600 years. With a grandeur of astronomical proportions, this romantic city is one of the most iconic in the world, and rightly so. A visit to Venice will transport you back to the time of masked balls and secret love affairs, revelry and debauchery.

Venice Tour Reviews

Guest reviews from travelers on tours in and around Venice

Yes, we had a great trip, which we attribute to our fabulous tour guide Margaret. She was wonderfully informative, extremely helpful and took us to some out-of-the way interesting places. We did not love the crowds in Rome and Venice and plan to take future vacations during the off season, but that’s not your fault.

We loved that we got to spend 3 days in each city. Our Travel Director, Margaret, was very knowledgeable and added a lot of interesting details during our walking tours. We loved the VOX system because we didn't miss a thing. We also loved having a lot of our dinners included and the choice to have optional experiences. We felt that we got so much more of our visit to Italy having this tour rather than trying to do it by ourselves. It was recommended to us by a family member and we would also recommend it! Also, we loved Margaret Stefanski. She was wonderful

When you add all the excursions (as we did), I don’t know that I would call it so much easy pace, but we saw and did some wonderful things. We really enjoyed not packing our suitcases every day. Three days per location was great.

Well organized tour with a wonderful tour guide, Severio and driver Gaitano, who at times warranted went above and beyond the call of duty. Hotels, for the most part were good, the organized tours in a few places that required a walking tour with a different hired guide were well done, sometimes the amount of walking was challenging for some in our group but due to the restrictions on where the tour buses were allowed to drop us off it was unavoidable. There were times where it would have been nice to stay in a city longer than just a short day visit, ie Florence, and Rome but all in all a wonderful experience.

Excellent tour of Italy. Such a beautiful country! Our tour guide and driver were excellent as well. WE were very happy with our accommodations. We covered about 3200 kms. and visited many great cities, town, and villages. We liked the culture, food, and scenery. The Italian people are very gracious and happy to see visitors.

This is the best way to enjoy Rome, Florence and Venice in a relaxed and well thought out way. I learned so much more about each city than I did when I cruised to Italy years earlier. The hotels are in great locations, and our Tour Director made our trip so special. It's a wonderful vacation, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Ciao Bella!

  • The Gallerie dell’Accademia houses Venetian art from the 14th to 18th centuries.
  • Take a gondola ride along the winding canals and see as it should be seen - from the water.
  • Tour Venice’s Doge’s Palace, the home to all 120 past Doges.
  • Take a beach day away from the crowds on Lido island. You can even rent private cabanas.
  • See how the famous Venetian Murano glass is blown on Murano island.
  • Visit the markets of Venice that sell fresh produce daily.
  • Experience the centuries old tradition of Carnival and attend a masquerade ball.

Venice Travel Tips

  • Venice is a maze, but that’s all part of the fun. Grab a map, start walking, and get lost as much as possible.

  • Flooding is common, and if you holiday in Italy during a flooding period, be prepared by buy waterproof shoes and walk on gangplanks to avoid the flood water.
