Italy Tours for Seniors

Everything was first class. We especially enjoyed the visits to places that were somewhat off the beaten path, such as the farms and the family winery. Our tour managers and local guides were professional, personable, and extremely knowledgeable.

Enjoyed the pasta factory tour and lunch, as well as the changes in venue, from the business of Rome to relaxing Sorento and Stressa. Did not feel the experience for Murano glassblowing met my expectation; thought there would be more explanation of the skills of glassblowing & techniques. While making a purchase was asked which tour manager I was with, which implies they are getting a commission for sales. While in Stressa, a few people wanted to take the excursion to see the Alps, felt they were being pressured not to do it, but those who went really had a good time. Busdriver was also excellent, accomodating, and kind. When arriving in a new hotel, having a little more time to freshen up for dinner would be nice, did not feel appropriately dressed for dinner after traveling all day.

Some were delicious but some were just okay. My husband and would have preferred to select what we wanted to eat more times during the tour. We wanted more down time and a slower pace. In looking back, much of my favorite moments were when we stopped touring for even just a few minutes to enjoy a cup of delicious hot chocolate or green tea, in a quiet place, but even that was rushed and no time to linger or even finish our delicious drink. We had to leave to stay on schedule. That exact thing occurred twice on the tour and we were disappointment both times.

This is my 2nd review. Our trip with Back roads was Wonderful. We were looked after brilliantly by our Driver And Guide Annalicia. The little extras at ceramic shop and all the fun dinners together were wonderful. Italian Palace was rushed but I guess that’s because we packed so much in. Wonderful Thank you.

Our tour was amazing, the places selected for us to visit on pilgrimage and the organization of the tour exceeded our expectations. My most memorable experience was the audience with the pope where our guide and the tour company enabled us to have a close up experience at St Peters Sq all due to their intimate knowledge of the process of audiences.

Our Italy tour was amazing! Highly recommended! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and helped us navigate a very busy city. We can’t wait to go back.
