Highlights of the trip were the beautiful Spanish countryside, historic churches and interesting people we met along the way. All of the hotels we stayed at were clean and comfortable and offered a good meal at the end of the day. Parts of the trail are challenging, even on an ebike, so worth getting your bike fitness up before you do this trip, but it’s highly recommended.

I chose this walking package as a 30th anniversary trip after reading a travel photography book about Mallorca when 12 years old - so it's been a dream of mine ever since, and Mallorca was everything I hoped it would be! I liked that this package offered a solo walking experience but with detailed notes and maps as guides. The moderate-challenging rating is accurate, as there are options to do paths that are both easy and challenging. We like the moderately challenging routes so that's what we chose. The accommodations were excellent - clean, unique, with wonderful service and breakfasts. We arrived early on a Friday and chose a shorter walk for that day, so we actually got 3 walking options in at Lluc. What I loved about the trip was that each hike was different and challenging in various ways. It included woodlands, agricultural areas, craggy mountains, coastal terrains and enough charming stone villages, plus goats (in trees). We used a combination of the GPS maps and the physical notes, and there was only one tricky spot where the GPS seemed to diverge from the notes and we ended up on private, locked property. I did tell the company about that problem. I hope to visit Mallorca again and I am now interested in other walking packages offered by the company.

E biking in Catalonia recently was awesome. We had no idea what to expect regarding scenery but we’re impressed with our accommodation, the medieval towns, the friendliness of the people and the crops in the fields

Unparalleled Roman ruins, stunning Islamic architecture, a wealth of history of great civilizations, unique culture, and edgy creativity are what define any trip to Spain. The country is full of rich and diverse landscapes. The Pyrenees are as majestic as any other mountain on the continent and are famous as one of the best-hiking destinations in Europe. Madrid and Barcelona always present a grand vibe and an incredible experience. The charming coves of the Mediterranean will truly make you fall in love and there are always quaint little villages that present an old-world European way of life to choose from.

Spain Vacation Tips

  • Spaniards are incredibly intimate and like to tell it as it is. Expect to be greeted with a kiss, even by strangers, and it’s not unusual to be interrupted as you speak.
  • When dining out with friends, always opt for some paella. Arguably the most popular dish in Spain, it’s often cheaper to share by increasing the size of your paella than to order a separate meal.
  • If you want to see the inside of the Sagrada Familia, be sure to buy your tickets online before you go. Only a certain number of people are allowed inside each day, and tickets sell out days in advance.
  • Though there’s plenty to see on Spain’s mainland, its many islands are also worth visiting. Check out Ibiza for some incredible nightlife, Lanzarote for unique volcanic landscapes, or Fuerteventura for surfing.
  • Promptness isn’t exactly a value in Spain. Spaniards tend to be very laid back and arrive late.
