We booked an extra night at the start and finish of the walk which was a more relaxing way and gave us more leisurely time to explore Assisi and Spoleto. The app was excellent to use and gave warnings when you were on the wrong track, which we found at times easy to do. The tracks were mostly easily defined, although a couple of times they were just narrow gullies which seemed to be waterways. Luckily we had great weather in early May. It would be really helpful if there were more details on the types of tracks you would encounter each day. The occasional coloured markings on walls and trees were very welcome and comforting, knowing you were on the right track. The accommodations were mostly very good, but after staying in quite a luxurious farm stay resort in Poreta, our final night's hotel was very basic. All hotels were in good central locations and they had substantial continental breakfasts. We saw spectacular scenery, beautiful medieval villages, olive groves, and poppy fields. It was a fabulous walk, definitely challenging in parts, but a truly wonderful experience. Just do it!

Overall our cycle trip was a great experience. The pre-departure briefing was a little disorganised but everything along the way worked out well. The hotel in Trento was a real highlight accommodation-wise. The cycling paths are in excellent condition. The mapping app worked well. Overall we had a great time despite 2 days of rain.

Excellent trip. The hotels used were all very good. Clean and plenty of hot water. Breakfasts in each hotel were plentiful, with a wide choice for most palates. Locations were all good, and made starting the next day easy as we were en route for the next location. The app that was sent for the walks was really helpful. Clear directions and easy to follow — just make sure you have sufficient data on your phone.

What an amazing experience walking the Via Francigena. Walking from Orvieto to Bolsena was interesting, especially when I arrived at a crossroad and the directions were not clear. However, when I called the emergency number, the gentleman on the other end was extremely helpful and wouldn't get off the phone until I was back on the right track and had entered Bolsena. The rest of the journey was clearly marked. Signs were everywhere. I did it as a self-guided tour and at no point did I feel threatened by anything, nor scared nor anxious. The accommodation was as expected but, most importantly, it was clean.

The hotel is in an excellent location with fantastic views, comfortable rooms and good showers, very helpful and friendly staff and adequate food. Breakfasts were as you would expect, the evening meals in the hotel were a little uninspiring and basic but pleasant enough. The walks were challenging but not overly so, although I would have preferred some walks higher up in the mountains, away from villages. The tour leader was friendly and helpful, accommodating various needs and requests.

Amazing

Great week discovering mountains of Tuscany Accommodation was great; going back in time, with comfort. Food outstanding. A family atmosphere all around. Great hikes, some more difficult, but it was all detailed in notes. Loved the Medieval walled city of Lucca, on day off.
