Reviews of our Italy Tours for June
Feedback from guests who toured Italy during June.
A fast-paced and very memorable visit to history-rich Rome, beautiful Florence, romantic Venice, very relaxing Lucerne, and bustling Paris. That very short eight-day trip surely opened for us another door to future visits to Europe.
An absolutely wonderful trip. Arrangements and transport to Dobbiaco were excellent. The Hotel Tschurtschenthaler was lovely. We had a great room - very clean and spacious. The food was very good throughout our stay and the staff very friendly and accommodating (even when they were dealing with the aftermath of a lightening storm). The walking was amazing. Out guide - Nigel Lewis - was excellent as always. We got lots of pre-walk information about the walk itself, the conditions and the weather. He is a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide, with lots of information about the area. He was also great at ensuing that the pace we walked at suited everyone, with rest breaks throughout the day. Nigel is certainly the best guide I have walked with. On the two evenings that we didn't eat at the hotel, Nigel had arranged group dinners in nearby restaurants. These were very successful and enjoyable. The walks are amazing, with spectacular scenery throughout. Nigel moved our itinerary around a little, to ensure that everyone built up their confidence on the terrain as the week progressed, which I really liked. The walking is moderately challenging in places, with some steepish ascents, but Nigel looked after the group really well. Highlights for me were walking the ridge that runs along the Italian/Austrian border and - of course - Tre Cime. We even saw marmots on not one, but two days! Overall, I loved everything and would go back tomorrow if I could.
It’s one of the fastest ways to see 3 European countries- 8 days for Rome, Florence, Venice, Lucerne, and Paris. Hotels are 3-4 stars and we travelled via a luxurious bus, accompanied by a very experienced (and hilarious) travel director and an excellent driver.
Too much on the first day when everyone is jet lagged, more time in San Gimignano please, loved it here. Amazing trip and group of fellow travelers! Would highly recommend. You will see so much.
The trip exceeded my expectations. I was fortunate to be in a very cohesive group. Our guide was excellent and shared his knowledge of the area with us openly. Our accommodation was terrific and I enjoyed being away from the touristy Amalfi areas. The itinerary was full and varied. All the organisation required seemed to happen seamlessly for which we were all grateful. Well done Explore.
Our tour guide and our bus driver were great. They made our trip a great experience. is a very caring person and did a great job with everything. We only had one problem in Capri where our hotel had no air-conditioning, but that was out of control. The hotel was Regina CHRISTINA and they were not very helpful at the front desk. They were kind of rude. They should’ve made sure that air-conditioning was working but everything else was great. We had a great experience and we would use Trafalgar again. Thank you
