Wonderful way to travel around Italy and see the various historical places around the beautiful country. Our Travel Guide Ernesta, was a fabulous source of information. The coach was very comfortable and our driver, Danielle was fantastic. We would certainly encourage anyone interested in an overview of Italy to take this tour.

There is A LOT to see. The tour can be as packed or as leisurely as you make it. If you don’t do the optional experiences you have more free time, but if you’re like us and had serious FOMO and did all of them then your days become a lot more full with much less downtime, but you get to see SO MUCH! It was an incredible trip and I am so grateful that I got to see and do as much as I did. Ernesta was wonderful. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide! Highly recommend if this is your first trip to Italy and you want to take in as much as you possibly can in the time that you have!

Yes, we had a great trip, which we attribute to our fabulous tour guide Margaret. She was wonderfully informative, extremely helpful and took us to some out-of-the way interesting places. We did not love the crowds in Rome and Venice and plan to take future vacations during the off season, but that’s not your fault.

We loved that we got to spend 3 days in each city. Our Travel Director, Margaret, was very knowledgeable and added a lot of interesting details during our walking tours. We loved the VOX system because we didn't miss a thing. We also loved having a lot of our dinners included and the choice to have optional experiences. We felt that we got so much more of our visit to Italy having this tour rather than trying to do it by ourselves. It was recommended to us by a family member and we would also recommend it! Also, we loved Margaret Stefanski. She was wonderful

It’s a very busy itinerary, but we got to see and experience so much! Our tour director, Cristiano was FABULOUS! He was so knowledgeable and took care of every detail. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a great time. The Leader was very well organised and clear in her instructions and made the trip fun for everyone. I think we were lucky that the group as a whole got on very well, but that was helped by the leader's positive approach.

Travel tips for Cultural Tours in Italy

  • Secure your museum tickets a couple of weeks in advance, especially for popular attractions such as the ruins of Pompeii or the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi.
  • Be aware that family-owned shops and artisanal laboratories in smaller countryside towns might operate on reduced hours and are typically closed between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Avoid tourist traps by seeking recommendations from locals or your tour guide.
  • Keep your belongings secure and avoid carrying valuable items in easily accessible pockets or bags.
  • Keep in mind that food is an integral part of Italian culture. Discover it by opting for authentic agriturismi and trattorie (i.e. traditional, family-owned Italian restaurants that offer simple, home-cooked meals), instead of commercial restaurant chains.
  • Ensure your clothing adheres to respectful dress codes (i.e. covering your shoulders and knees before entering churches and other religious buildings) when visiting religious sites or historic landmarks.
