This Amalfi Coast Walking with Explore, led by Genarro, was one of the best & most enjoyable holiday I’ve been on. Everything went very smoothly from pick up at Naples Airport to return there 8 days later. Guide Genarro was so good👌 Very organised, knowledgeable and keen to pass on anything of interest. He enthused about the Amalfi, his, area. I not only learnt a lot but felt I knew the area. I SO enjoyed the marvellous walking! Different and interesting each day. Spectacular views! Genarro looked after his team so well, pacing for the slowest walker - and still seemed to always be on time to allow for a bit of free time then the allotted bus pick up. I definitely recommend this Agriturismo Amalfi walking week led by Genarro.

A fantastic week of varied walks in Amalfi due in no small part to our guide Gennaro. He was attentive, patient and kind and enthused us with his knowledge of the history, people, culture and landscape of the area. We really felt that we had got to know this area by the end of the trip. The walking was excellent. We had a very warm week and most ascents/descents are steps so you need to be fit/ready for this. It’s not technically challenging walking in any way. Accommodation was good but basic. Valentino and his family were lovely hosts and we had homemade food each evening. Only slight niggle is the very firm beds. We had a great group and you are added to a WhatsApp group when you arrive to share photos. This is a great idea but some companies set it up a couple of days before departure so everyone can introduce themselves. This can break the ice for those joining a group holiday for the first time. I would highly recommend this trip, particularly the guide Gennaro.

This was an amazing trip! From meeting the group at the airport to the drop off a week later everything went really smoothly. Gennaro was our guide for the week. He was fantastic! His love for the Amalfi coast was evident everyday. He did a fabulous job of giving us a sense of what life is really like there. He was so eager to share all of his knowledge. It made the trip even better. He was patient and kind and kept us moving and on time with any bus or ferry trips we had each day. It felt like he knew all of us right away. We had a very cohesive group. I feel like I made friends for a lifetime. Staying at the farm in San Lazarro was even better than I expected. The family were such gracious hosts. The food was fabulous. Pasta and cheese making was so much fun. The accommodations were spotless. The hiking was definitely rigorous but we kept each other going. Gennaro was a great motivator and very encouraging to everyone. The views were well worth the hikes! I loved that we had time to swim a few times if we chose. The Mediterranean was gorgeous. I would highly recommend this trip and especially Gennaro!

As a first-time traveller with Explore, I was very impressed. Our tour leader was fantastic - professional, approachable, and full of local knowledge. He kept everything running smoothly while creating a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for the group. A memorable trip.

There is a lot of bus travel. The hotels are not always in the city center so when you have free time , taxi rides are required to see on your own or to have dinners. Because the places you visit are from ancient times, there are cobblestone streets in many area so walking is sometimes more difficult for some people. The personalities of the travel director and the bus driver make the trip more enjoyable so that combination is important. The off the beaten path places we go for dinner are quite special. It helps to immerse in the culture of where you visit.

This was my fourth trip with Explore Worldwide, but my first walking tour. I wanted to see whether I’d actually enjoy a walking holiday, as I love walking but had never done it consistently day after day. Needless to say, I absolutely loved it — and I’m already browsing trips for next year! I went back and forth about booking the agriturismo or the hotel, and I’m so glad I chose the agriturismo. It was such a lovely place to stay. The food was amazing, I loved relaxing on the sun terrace, and although the rooms were simple, they were perfectly adequate. My only small niggle was that the beds were a little firm — but after a day’s walking, you’ll still sleep very well! The walks were a bit more challenging than I expected. At first, I thought they might not be enough, especially as the first couple are under three miles, but they involve a lot of uphill and downhill sections. There are plenty of stairs on this trip! In the end, though, it worked perfectly, because by the time you reach the two bigger walks towards the end, your legs have adapted. And what walks they are — the scenery is absolutely stunning. At times it’s hard to watch where you’re putting your feet because the coastline is so breathtaking! There are also opportunities to swim at the end of three of the walks, which is definitely worth taking advantage of. And what’s a tour without a good guide? We were lucky to have Gennaro, who kept everything running smoothly and made sure the whole group stayed on track throughout the trip. The experience was topped off by a fantastic group of people — I honestly couldn’t have asked for better company. So yes, I’d absolutely recommend this trip. I can completely see why it’s a bestseller!
