Honest insights from past guests on our Walking Italy tours
Good for first time visitors to central Italy as well as providing new experiences of the smaller towns for clients who may have been to Rome, Florence and Venice. The itinerary offers a chance to taste local produce and meet farmers. The area around San Gimignano is very peaceful and picturesque.
Very good trip, based in a quiet village setting where there were excellent restaurant and bar facilities. The accommodation was excellent and prepared meals to restaurant standards. The only downside for me was some of the walks ended with some free time in busy tourist destinations that were extremely overcrowded, very expensive and in the hot weather, uncomfortable.
Gennaro was an amazing guide. His knowledge was incredible also the communication from him about all we needed to know was brilliant. Such a great guy. The combination of walks were brilliant and I made good use of a day off as it was very hot and made the most of exploring the local village. The accommodation was great. Food outstanding using produce from the gardens. They were excellent in providing GF food. I made some awesome memories with such a fabulous group ❤️
I had an amazing holiday.I spent time with a great bunch of people ,so many laughs…The food was excellent so much so I gained 5 pounds despite all the hiking. The walks were amazing , a couple for me were a bit harder than leisurely, but I loved them. My fave had to be Walk of the Gods where we were lucky to see Mountain goats and a couple of dogs herding them. And as for our guide Matteo,10/10 ,such a lovely, knowledgeable, young man so passionate about the area in which he grew up. He is a real asset to Explore…Probably one of my best holidays ever .
Had a lovely experience hiking around the Amalfi coast with our Explore Group. Genarro the group guide was really informative throughout the hikes and the agritursimo where we stayed had a very family feel to it, allowing our group to bond easily in a relaxed environment. It might be nice to have some more opportunities for leisure time or relaxing on the beach as it was’ so hot! Overall had a lovely memorable experience and would recommend.
A fantastic tour walking the Amalfi coast with tour leader Gennaro and a lovely group of fellow hikers from various countries. A jam packed itinerary to ensure we were able to make the most of our week hiking and exploring the spectacular Amalfi coast. Gennaro really enhanced our experience with his exceptional knowledge of the area and passion for exploring this part of his country. The family run Agriturismo was rustic style accommodation providing an authentic experience with a lovely family serving up beautiful meals each day. On the free day, the optional day trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum is definitely worth doing. I found the hiking easily manageable but I am fit and exercise regularly. In the trip notes it states leisurely pace, which is accurate, however you still need to be able to manage walking up and down many stairs, including some rough terrain, and in warm conditions. Therefore a reasonable level of fitness is recommended if you are thinking about completing this trip. Hiking poles help to protect your knees especially on the downhill sections, so worth bringing along. I highly recommend this trip, the best way to see all of the spectacular views that the Amalfi coast offers, with an extra bonus if you get Gennarro as your guide!
