Italy Walking Tours

A very enjoyable week exploring Tuscany. The scenery was beautiful and the walking relaxed. The wine tasting was excellent, as was the optional cheese tasting. Our guide, Gionata, was warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable. He did an excellent job of looking after our group.

Excellent tour made extra special due to an amazing tour leader, Barbara Gizzi. The small number on the trip was a surprise but proved to be the makings of probably one of the best Explore holidays we have ever had.

Our guide Lara was fabulous. She was so helpful. Lara had so much knowledge about the history of Sicily and the volcano, Mount Etna, that each was great. The walks were a pleasure and the food delicious. I would certainly return to Sicily.

You must be fit to take this trip. There is a lot of walking per day--you must be comfortable walking 5+ miles (with breaks) up steep hills and steps to enjoy this vacation and do all the extra itinerary items. Loved the trip. Had a lot of fun. It was well organized and the people we met were wonderful.

We were able to visit 4 of our top places in Italy all in one trip. Everyone from the director, to the drivers, etc helped to make the trip one we won't soon forget.

The hotel is in an excellent location with fantastic views, comfortable rooms and good showers, very helpful and friendly staff and adequate food. Breakfasts were as you would expect, the evening meals in the hotel were a little uninspiring and basic but pleasant enough. The walks were challenging but not overly so, although I would have preferred some walks higher up in the mountains, away from villages. The tour leader was friendly and helpful, accommodating various needs and requests.
