Lithuania Tours and Trips

A great insight into the three Baltic States. How they have evolved, the constant threat and reality of being invaded and the fortitude of the people. The trip embraced the three capitals of the respective states, but also stop offs in lesser known places including the island of Saaremaa and the coastal town of Kuressaare. Although large distances were covered, the transport was comfortable and stops made along the way. Our guide, Simona had an encylopedic knowledge of events and led guided tours as an introduction to the major sites and cities. A very enjoyable a busy schedule, with time set aside to cover you own points of interest. An excellent foretaste of the area which I highly recommend.

Our leader was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the countries and was able to recommend good eating places on our free days. She was attentive to our needs understanding that not everyone has the same physical abilities so we were given options that best suited.

Only one small reservation: we didn't need as much free time fitted into the itinerary. Otherwise, all good. Jougas was a superb tour leader -- effective in practical terms, and able to convey so much historical and cultural knowledge. Transport was fine. Fine places to eat. Good plan to have a group dinner in each new place. Lots to see and do. Very good communication with Explore leading up to the trip.

Our tour leader was excellent - he was able to deal with any problem professionally and efficiently. He also went out of his way with extra material/information. We had a person on our tour who didn't listen so his work load was made extra demanding by having to repeat information several times.

This trip provided a nice blend of celebrating the differences in Baltic states’ culture, the common history they all share, and the welcomed free time for further exploration and/or relaxation. I loved the medieval moments in time, Old Town vibes, and new found respect I developed for the Baltic people. Key highlights included a day visit to the unique Curonian Spit of Lithuania, Saaremaa island in Estonia, and the surprisingly amazing Baltic food!

This trip exceeded all my expectations. Three beautiful countries, all with stunning architecture, fascinating histories, and lovely countryside. The people were so friendly and helpful too. The variety of experiences made it a standout trip for me.
