The tour was well organized and the leader very helpful and knowledgeable.The bus driver was excellent and we felt safe and cared for.The places visited were of interest and the hotels comfortable and clean.

We traveled on the Spendours of Sicily Tour in the first week of May 2026. We experienced the highlights of this beautiful part of Italy over 10 Days with Back Roads. This was our second tour with Backroads & once again it didn't disappoint. The tour commenced in Palermo & wound our way across Sicily venturing to a number of back road experiences & ending up in Catania. There was too many highlights to name from Mt Etna to the markets Ortigia Island in Syracuse. Every night was spent dining & enjoying the magnificent food/wine of Sicily. Everyone on the tour got on well & this was orchestrated by our legendary Tour Guide Luca Sica who went above & beyond to ensure everyone had a memorable experience. Nothing was too much trouble for Luca to ensure everyone's needs were met. If your considering exploring Sicily the Back Roads tour is perfect, small group experiencing unforgettable niche visits to wonderful destinations e.g. olive farm, wine tasting, almond farm lunch & more. Staying in an old Fryer's Convent in Ragusa was top of the list for accommodation. We thoroughly recommend the tour to Sicily, you get the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture. The Italian Indulgance tour is a great way to see a lot of Italy in style and comfort. On the whole our expectations were met and exceeded. Our guide Danila was the best. Our driver Fabio drove impeccably and transported us safely from day 1 to the end of our tour. We were very sad to finish our tour.

The opportunity to see smaller less travelled villages (local food, food and more food) and activities (small wineries and truffle hunting!) while not missing big ticket locations was exactly what I was looking for. Being with like minded people and an exceptional Tour Leader (Danila is the Bomb!) made Italy even more magical.

It was short and fast paced, but you got to see a lot of the big ticket Items. Travelling on an organised tour has certain advantages in getting you into places, where as an IIndividual may take longer to get into. Having a schedule each day and keeping everyone informed of times etc helps people to be on time for their daily activities.

Absolutely unbelievable trip. There were only 9 of us on this tour and we all clicked very quickly. Michele, our guide was so knowledgeable, lots of fun and looked after us all very well. Andrea our driver, made us feel very safe and was also friendly and helpful. The Tuscany scenery is stunning and combined with great food and accommodations, has made our Italy holiday a memorable vacation. Porterage at our hotels was appreciated and we were grateful that Michele made the pace easy for us all. As the "oldies" in the group, we were worried about holding our fellow travelers up, however we were never made to feel that we were a nuisance. We highly recommend Back-Roads Tours, we are doing another tour with them in a couple of weeks.
