Bilbao Tours and Trips

The Picos trekking is a fantastic experience. The walks are generally on the challenging side of moderate. It is full on. The scenery is absolutely spectacular. The hotel is a lovely typical Spanish family run hotel. Really welcoming and homely. The food is very good and the complimentary wine with dinner excellent. We had all 4 seasons in our week including snow down to the village on the Friday! The night in Potes was also fabulous. But it is Juan Jo the hotel owner, bus driver and guide who really makes the tour. He’s simply excellent in all respects. His wife Sonia, daughter Laura and son in law (chef) Gonzalo were all great. One of our party was taken ill on the first night and she asked to be taken to hospital on Sunday morning to get checked out. Gonzalo drove her an hour and a half to the nearest hospital. He then stayed with her for a few hours, helping out with the language and making sure she had everything she needed. He even sorted out her phone! She was diagnosed with pneumonia so a good job she went!! She ran short of a few bits later in the week and by this time had been transferred to the larger hospital in Oviedo. Juan Jo’s other daughter lives in Oviedo and went to see her and take the bits she needed. Service above and beyond. I highly recommend this tour if you like full on walks in stunning surroundings, coupled with good food and drink!!!

Trip planning lived up to our expectations for a fourth time. In particular, the information we were given in terms of hotels/posadas, the GPS files, and the reliable transfer of suitcases between stays. We really enjoyed the range of accommodation.

We had a wonderful experience on our Highlights of Northern Spain tour! It was so nice to visit places and have experiences that were not in traditionally touristic locations. Our group consisted of only ten, which made for great conversations and lots of laughs along the way. Our guide, Guillermo, was perfect in his role and very personable and caring…we feel like we made a new friend. This was exactly the trip that we had hoped for, and we would highly recommend this tour company for others!

A great holiday. The walking was demanding at times with some long ascents and descents but always manageable and rewarded by stunning scenery and views. Juanjo was the perfect guide, adapting the itinerary to the weather conditions and sharing his vast knowledge of the region. His family-run hotel was comfortable and welcoming and the dinners prepared by his son-in-law were delicious and generous. I would definitely recommend this trip!

This was my first hiking trip. JuanJo is a tremendous tour leader: hugely experienced, a real people person, full of stories and someone who loves what he does. His wife, Sonia, runs the hotel which is located in the quiet village of Sotres. His son-in-law is the chef who provides lovely food every evening and the portions are extremely generous. We were very lucky with the weather but JuanJo had alternatives in mind should that not have been the case. The walks are beautiful but on the harder side of moderate. A beautiful part of Spain, introduced by one of its biggest fans. Definitely to be recommended!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The walks were pitched just right for my level of fitness. The guide, Juano, was helpful and knowledgeable. I love going to the Picos and this trip is the best way to see them.
