Reviews of our Spain Tours for March
Feedback from guests who toured Spain during March.
Unfortunately we were hit with the big storm part way through the trip but the walks we did manage to do were very good. Our tour leader Ester Galindo was fantastic and did a great job finding alternative things to do when we could not follow the itinerary due to the weather. It may not have all gone as planned but I would still recommend this trip.
An excellent week, and an excellent guide Ester Galindo. Everything was great - accommodations, walking itinerary, scenery, guide expertise, and guide resourcefulness in switching activities to other great options when Storm Teresa arrived! Recommended :)
Gran Canaria is a Garden of Eden and it's hard to go wrong with a visit to the island. Despite the full-0n tourist traps in the South the interior is remarkably unspoiled and genuine. Furthermore, the trip was made perfect for us by our guide, Ester Galindo. Not only was she impeccable in managing every complexity of the arrangements and keeping us in touch and informed. She was also delightful company, always upbeat and positive, full of the joys as if she were herself on an exciting holiday and not hard at work. As our leader this helped us to bond as a very pleasant group of quite disparate individuals. When a named storm came crashing through on the last two days her skill in devising new routes keeping us safe and happy and salvaging a near disaster was remarkable. Explore staff in the call centres are excellent but can I suggest that the trip notes need a thorough editing to make them briefer and clearer. For example at page four giving arrival and departure information there is an excess of repetitive information and it could be fraction as long. Information on finding the bus makes it sound easy but it isn't. It should tell us to turn right into the long arrivals hall and look for the overhead direction signs with the square bus symbol and GLOBAL, the name of the company. This will take you up one floor. On leaving the building turn diagonally right, cross the service road and car park and find the stand for Bus 11. This gives times for the buses which differ hourly. It's useless using the roundabout as a reference as you can hardly see it. Someone needs to walk it out and redraft the directions. Excellent value and a really memorable trip. Thank you.
The tour was a fantastic way to see Andalucia in a limited timespan. I had a great group and guide. Craig gave excellent tours in each city and was full of knowledge about Spain. I enjoyed having free time most days too.
This trip hits the main sites of Andalucia in a week, so it's pretty hectic. There's some spare time for extras, so it's worth doing some research before going, and beware unofficial sites at the top of Google's list. The accommodation isn't 4*, but it's adequate. Guide Craig's knowledge is encyclopaedic. Andalucia can be very hot, but it wasn't in March - take some warm clothes and water proofs! Optional extra Gruta de las Marvillas is not to be missed.
This was a really great trip that had been really well planned to allow us to see the major sites of the cities we visited and to have experience of staying and walking in rural Andalucia. I loved the contrast. Our tour guide could tell us in detail about the history and background of the places we could visit as well as being very knowledgable about the rural environment. I learned a lot while having a brilliant holiday.
