Holidays to Barcelona will take you to a city focused on living a good life. Fresh, flavourful Catalan cooking, tapas bars and seaside taverns all offer a taste of what Barcelona has to offer. After feasting on the food, savour the sights of Barcelona’s architecture from ancient Roman ruins to the celebrated Gaudi masterpieces. Many optional tours and all are worth taking part in! Be prepared for doing a lot of walking! Local guides provide so much information and history. Hotels are carefully chosen and I found them all to be very clean, comfortable and friendly. Our tour host, Lola, was wonderful. Energetic and always making sure everyone was ready for the next experience.

Well run itinerary. Chad did great! However, I should not have signed up for it. Was not my cup of tea. Regimented schedules are not my fort.

It is “packed” - not in a bad way. We took all the optional excursions (which were great) and my wife complained about not much time to shop. This is not a complaint - it is just jam packed. But - we saw a lot, which was the goal.

Although advertised as easy pace, this tour requires a high level of fitness. Many of the excursions involve a lot of walking to or from drop off points. A number of the tours were up and down steep footpaths.

This non-stop visit through the Iberian Peninsula is a must. The history is visited in full display with several stops daily. The art, the majestic buildings, the glory to Jesus Christ and the creators of it all as well as the ancients that left their mark on the history of this part and the rest of the world is well shown by Insight. The coach was comfortable and the driver is top notch. The rooms and hotels were very comfortable and beautiful. The turnkey operation by Betty kept everything clicking to make the adventure moving harmoniously. Food was plentiful and while it is not a wine or food affectionados dream, there was ample opportunities to sample the local flavors.

Sometimes we felt rushed, especially when we had an included dinner, however we did see many beautiful things. We took many of the optional trips, that was our choice. In the future we may just do the included trips so we have more free time. Our travel director Guy was excellent, as well as our bus driver Antonio. I would recommend Spanish wonders to anyone interested in seeing a large part of Spain. It is a beautiful country full of history and wonderful people.
