Gorgeous tiles, port wine and cork production are just some of the things Portugal is famous for. No matter what kind of holiday you’re looking for, you will love this lively country. Head to Lisbon to connect with its history and architecture, or take a cruise tour along the Azores to soak up that Iberian sunshine. Don’t miss the playful, multicoloured Sintra National Palace!

January might be the coldest month of the year in Portugal, but there is also a catch. Compared with the abysmal weather of northern European countries, Portugal in January is still a sunny respite. Of course, the Mediterranean’s wet winter phenomenon affects both the mainland and the islands. But if you dig deeper, you will find a few dry stretches. So, hug the sun-sprinkled southern shores of the Algarve or visit Sintra's Pena Palace minus all the maddening crowd. Catch some mammoth swells in Sagres atop your surfing board or ski down the slopes of Serra de Estrela. Portugal Tour Reviews

Honest insights from past guests on our Portugal tours

Anonymous | Traveled in May

What a great country Portugal is! We had a grand time visiting the many sites on this tour. The Portuguese people were very nice and we were able to witness many of the artisans at work, and enjoyed song, dance and local foods. The weather in May turned out to be pretty nice with a medium weight jacket being required only a couple of times in the evening or when the wind kicked up.

Pablo and Bill took complete care of us and made our trip special. Both had lots of knowledge about the history and country of Portugal which they shared with us. Bill prepared awesome picnic lunches for us on three of the days. Much appreciated.

It was a wonderful mix of historical, cultural, and beautiful sites. We needed to adapt to getting up early and being ready to go every day, but we saw so much of Portugal by being able to do so.

Heather M. | Traveled in May

The itinerary offered a nice balance of guided exploration and personal free time. It was organized yet allowed free time to explore, relax and enjoy the local culture on your own.

Amazing tour, our guide Sonia was fantastic. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time and enjoyed the itinerary. The hotels were all very luxurious, except for the one in Lousã, other than that the whole tour I would highly recommend. You get a great tour of Portugal, a beautiful country. We enjoyed the local tours, saw many interesting sites. The highlight was the picnic in the Douro Valley.

The tour was exceptional including the hotel with one exception. We were not aware that we needed to request a walk in shower but it worked. Our tour guide was also exceptional with no exceptions. She was delightful each day and explained the sights and the history of the country thoroughly. I would highly recommend this trip and guide. C.Mike Hickey
