The Rota Vicentina is a long distance footpath which opened in 2013 and represents a successful eco-tourism initiative to develop low impact tourism in a relatively untouched region of Portugal. The trail connects Cape St Vincent, Portugal's most south-westerly point, to the village of Odeceixe, where it splits into two trails; the Historical Way which heads inland and the Fishermen's Trail which follows the coast to Porto Covo. This trip follows the trail south from Odeceixe to Cape St Vincent and a section of the Fishermen's trail. For a person of faith these are inspiring shrines and gorgious basilicas. One should see ones in life time. Tour manager was excellent. The bus driver was great. I felt that bus travel for two days was a bit tiresome and time consuming. The hotels were great except at Lourdes. But it was close to the shrine, to have personally access to spend time. And so I sacrifice a bit of luxury when it comes to hotel at lourdes. On the whole it was excellent. I recommend any day.
