Enjoyed touring north and southern regions of Portugal, Expertise and depth of knowledge of history and culture of *personal info removed by Feefo* , our Tour Director and professionalism and excellent tour driver, *personal info removed by Feefo* Negative aspect: Was suppose to be a small group but number went up to 42! Bus felt tight and crowded and many of us ended up getting sick with coughs and bad colds.
This itinerary includes a lot! Each day you are traveling to a different place in Portugal. There is a lot of walking on cobblestones and uneven terrain. Some of the hotels we had to walk a short distance to with our personal items and carry on luggage as the bus could not get close enough due to narrow streets. We loved this trip - but I think some people in our group had a hard time keeping up. Also - we had 40 people in our group- which was a large group.
Covers the diverse regions of Portugal, all at a relatively relaxed pace. It had a great mixture of planned activities and sufficient free time to do some deeper exploration on our own.
Portugal is a lovely country with amazing culture, history, and scenery. I especially enjoyed visiting the Algarve region, Fatima, and Porto. I loved the port wine, tiled structures, and beautiful filigree. Above all else, our tour guide, Sabrina, and coach driver, Filipe, were outstanding. We definitely had the Insight A-Team guiding us through Portugal.
The itinerary is fabulous. It covers several areas of the country, north and south. It also allots 2 full days in Porto which is awesome. I would have liked 2 days in Douro Valley as well.
Whilst there was some overlap with my previous tour (Grand Spain & Portugal), the itinerary covered Portugal in greater depth and detail . The Tour Director Helder was excellent and made the trip even better with a secret visit to Nezere a special stop.Teamed with our driver Alfredo they worked to ensure we were given the best opportunities.
