Porto Tours and Trips
Fine wines, delicious cuisine, unique art and architecture, breathtaking scenery, and 900 years of history make Porto one of the finest cities in Europe. Foodies flock to the Mercado do Bolhão for local delicacies like sardines and alheira. Art and architecture lovers vibe with the São Roque Gardens, which features a restored historic mansion and spectacular art collection on its extensive grounds. For an incredible view of the city, climb the 225 steps of the Clerígos Tower. Porto indeed packs a punch despite its humble size, making it a popular destination for a short trip from Lisbon. I enjoyed all we saw within our nine days and how well organised the trip was! Such a great and easy way to travel Europe. Our guides were also incredible and so knowledgeable! I personally think there were many FTA's (which added up quite quickly in costs) and expected more included experiences, but otherwise was very impressed by how organised our trip manager was and how smooth everything ran!
This trip blends the best of the coastal route from Porto with the stunning, lesser-known Spiritual Variant trail. Hiking over 100 km (62 miles) along the Portuguese Camino Highlights Walk was challenging but very rewarding. The coastal walks offered stunning views of the coastline and ocean and I loved walking through the quaint fishing villages along the coast. The Stone & Water trail and the Spiritual Variant trail offered stunning scenery, peaceful forests, rivers, and charming medieval villages and country towns along the way. The food was a highlight too—fresh seafood and traditional local dishes at every stop. I highly recommend trying local dishes such as Galician Pulpo (octopus), Galician scallops (in the shell), and Padron peppers! On Day 5 and 6, we stayed at Villa Covelo and stumbled upon a local restaurant called, O Recuncho do lolo, and had an incredible local experience here! The owner Graciela was so hospitable and kind that we dined there two evenings in a row! You must try her cheesecake (she sold us by telling us it was the best in the world- and it very well might be!) The accommodations at A Casa Antiga do Monte and Hotel Melo Alvim were cozy, historic, and full of character. If you’re thinking about doing a "highlights version" of the Camino, this Exodus trip is the perfect way to do it! :)
This was the trip of a lifetime. We fell in love with Porto the minute we set foot in the city.....and Gaia was also amazing. Each town we visited was delightful and we highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Portugal by foot, by boat, and by car/coach. Simply amazing.
I enjoyed this tour with a good group of fellow travellers. Our guide tried very hard to meet everyone's needs and to keep them happy. The country itself was very interesting with loads of history. There was also a variety of activities included in the tour which I enjoyed.
I found the tour both enjoyable and educational. It had a good mix of rural and cities; we were introduced to the country's food, culture and most interesting history. Our tour guide was well informed and socialised easily with the group. The driver was helpful, organised and made us feel safe whilst travelling. I very much enjoyed Coimbra and Nazare, but one could add many other locations to the list.
Wonderful planning. Hiked sensational. Wine tastings so much fun. Our leader Andreas was amazing, going above and beyond to make this a great experience. He made sure that everyone was comfortable at all times. He even got a restaurant that was closed to open just for us. Unforgettable in every way. Would highly recommend!!
