Honest insights from past guests on our Bicycle Portugal tours
A great active adventure that ticked so many physical and mental goals for us! Accommodation, transfers, bike hire and maps were all arranged for us, meaning all we had to worry about was pedaling the distance!
Portugal has given us memories that will last a lifetime. Dejan did an amazing job guiding us and was also able to give all the cyclists many chances to ride at their preferred speed. Pedro, our driver and a person who wore many hats, was a gift for all of us. From preparing amazing lunches with local foods to making sure we were hydrating, Pedro was an asset in every way. This will not be the last trip we take with Explore.
We had an amazing trip touring the Algarve region of Portugal. Everything was organised superbly. We have plans to do more in the future and will definitely go with them again.
The trip was well organised from start to finish. The bikes were really good quality and route was easy to follow from the apps. The hotels where basic but met our needs after cycling all day with good food and comfortable beds.
We had a fabulous trip. It’s what we have come to expect with Explore to be honest but all the same it needs to be said. Tour leader Alex was brilliant all week as was Paulo the van driver and lunchtime caterer supreme! The trip was run at a really good pace that kept everyone together - no mean feat in a group of 16. In the interests of openness and for feedback I would suggest that the hotel in Porto was rather basic. We paid for an extra night here before the event and do not consider the rate we paid was value for money for such a basic hotel room. It was of a lesser standard than a UK travelodge. Other hotels along the route were all of a good quality with Monday and Thursday being especially so.
This was the first time I have been to Portugal and found this trip a great way to get a taste of the south of the country. Excellent tour leader and support driver. I
