A great trip with an excellent host! A lot was packed into each day with one pleasant surprise after another. Only downside was the amount of noise I had to endure at the hotel due to the ongoing renovation work. Having said that I would happily recommend this trip to anyone.

I really appreciated Oriol and how he conducted the tour. He was pleasant, encouraging, and handled any situations that came up with calm confidence. Overall the tour was relaxed and easy-going. I really liked how they arranged for lunches by collecting a modest amount for the support vehicle driver to purchase lunches to enjoy roadside.

It is an excellent itinerary for covering Southern Italy and Sicily. I also appreciated the day in Rome. I’m glad you changed the original itinerary in Sicily because it looked too rushed. This gave us a better balance in Sicily and more choice of what to do rather than being too rushed. 3 nights in Giardini Naxos was excellent. I couldn’t find many tours that included Puglia and Sicily so for me this was perfect.

The accommodation, included meals, planned activities and small coach travel were only exceeded in quality and professional delivery by our amazing Tour Guide Georgina. She sets the new standard in professional, friendly, caring and knowledgeable tour guiding, while still having a great sense of humour and going above and beyond the normal guide’s role. We will certainly consider future tours with BackRoads, as this one was back to back with our Portugal tour, and it too was excellent.
