We absolutely loved the tour with Back-roads, our guide Patrizia and driver Ilidio were fabulous, very accommodating and knowledgeable. We visited beautiful towns and learned about the history and culture of Portugal. The hotels were great and dinning amazing, with a good balance of organised and free time. We had a wonderful group of people on our tour and Patrizia brought us all together as a team. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Back-Roads, and will use them again in the future.

The countryside is beautiful as are the little villages. I would like to have spent longer in the smaller towns and villages than in the cities. there were a lot of churches and palaces and religious sites - and the history around these was excellent. Perhaps a variation from these eg : visiting smaller family run businesses and enterprises and coastal areas adds more depth to the culture of the country today and how people live - which interests me.
