Portugal 11-Day Tours and Trips

This is our 6th Back Roads tour. The itinerary was well put together giving a taste of all things Portugal. The accomodation was excellent 4-5 star. Meals provided were of a high standard especially those in the D’Ouro valley. The welcome and farewell dinners included local entertainment. Laura, our tour guide, provided detailed commentary and no “Challenges” were a problem. She even added in a few sites not listed in the itinerary. Finally our driver, Rui, safely drove us around the countryside.

We had a fantastic trip doing the Portuguese Coastal Camino with this company. Our accomodation was great, bags were always there when we arrived hot and tired at our destination and Julia and Melissa, the agents who organised our trip were amazing. We had lots of queries and questions which they always responded to quickly and professionally which we were very grateful for. I would highly recommend them if you are planning a trip.

This tour was exactly what we were looking for to explore the history and culture of Portugal. Fantastic tour guide who went above and beyond), small group (we had 12), engaging and informative activities with enough down time to do our own thing. So much better than a big bus tour, we were able to go into small villages and out of the way places. Accomodation and the meals provided were excellent. All activities and entrance fees to attractions were covered in the cost so no nasty surprises. Highly recommended.

It was great to enjoy some of the less travelled roads to some amazing destinations. Our tour leader was superwoman - organised, knowledgeable, helpful and thoughtful. Our driver was very competent and considerate and safe. I highly recommend this tour - it was a great experience for someone who was new to travelling and for anyone looking for a friendly small group adventure.

A great way to see Portugal. Traveling along on the by roads. A small number of people on the tour. So much more intimate and friendly. Our guide was very knowledgeable on points of interest and historical information. Would do it again Accommodation was excellent too.

This was a trip was several years in the making after only getting a glimpse of Portugal as part of another Trafalgar trip I took. This trip exceeded my expectations and mainly this was due to inside knowledge of Portugal by a local (Nunu) tour director. For the style of travel I like, this really made the difference to obtain perspective and make the trip less "touristy" and more of a learning experience. I really felt connected to Portuguese culture and got to see it more from a local perspective. There were many huge advantages even in community that the tour director had, as opposed to my previous trip in the region, and I saw a huge difference in repeat events I did which were exponentially better. There were local events thst could have destroyed many part of the tour but Nunu successfully helped us get around the local country shortcomings (e.g., strikes, closures). Expert driving as well. Kudos.
