Very good overview of Portugal. However, would have liked to spend more time in Lisbon. Would have appreciated if there was a local guide to show the Alfama district, the castle and explore the local food scene.

I found this trip to be a perfect pace. Our tour allowed us to spend 2 days in some cities. The director was knowledgable. He was concerned about people with dietary restrictions and made sure where we ate know about the allergies. I will definitely use this company for future trips.

Excellent trip which covers a lot of ground in a week. Leader Joao was knowledgeable about all aspects of Madeira and catered for all the group’s needs well. Hotels were comfortable and recommendations for eating out were spot on. Walks were about right in terms of length and challenge. I’d rate them moderate +.

The itinerary combined beautiful walks, fascinating towns and cities, wonderful scenery, and plenty of opportunities to experience local food and wine. What really made the holiday special were all the extra experiences included by our tour leader. The tapas crawl was a particular highlight, giving us the chance to sample authentic local dishes in places we would never have found on our own. The sangria tasting was great fun and added another dimension to understanding the local culture and traditions. Our leader was also fantastic at helping us discover excellent restaurants offering superb food at very reasonable prices, which made the trip even better value. There was a perfect balance between organised activities and free time to explore independently. The walks were enjoyable and varied, the wine experiences were authentic rather than touristy, and every day brought something different. I would highly recommend this holiday to anyone who enjoys combining gentle walking, great food and wine, cultural experiences, and the chance to discover both Spain and Portugal in depth.

Our seven day trip, covering Porto, the Douro wine region, the city of Lisbon and beautiful Obidos was a fabulous introduction to this beautiful country. Transportation was with a comfortable small coach, which did not involve unduly long journeys between our numerous destinations. Hotel stays were comfortable and well located in the towns and villages visited. Our group of nine people were superbly led, guided, supported (and educated!) by the wonderful Carla Costa, who played such an important role in our overall enjoyment. One of the very best tours I have ever experienced.

The Azores are beautiful and I enjoyed all the nature areas. The people are nice. The volcanic cave and the thermal pool was enjoyable. Whale watching and visiting Pico was well worth it.
