Portugal City sightseeing Trips

Although we had a good holiday and the accommodation and tour leader were extremely good. We were a little disappointed because we would have liked more coastal walks. We felt the walks inland were a little uninspiring with regards to views etc. That said we do come from the South West of England and are a bit spoilt for coastal walks. Overall we enjoyed the holiday and Ester the guide could not have been better.

I travel a lot, but this tour was truly one of my favorites. Everything was thoughtfully planned down to the smallest details. The itinerary included some of the most beautiful towns and cities in Spain and Portugal, comfortable buses, an interesting cultural program, delicious local food and restaurants, live music, and amazing entertainment. The Flamenco show was especially unforgettable. The hotels were beautiful and located in the best areas, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A very special thank you goes to our guide, who was incredibly helpful, caring, and dedicated throughout the entire trip. He created such a friendly, fun, and relaxed atmosphere for all of us, and it made the journey even more memorable.

This was a very enjoyable holiday at exactly the level described, with interesting walks which did not take up the whole day. We explored salt marshes and beaches, cork woodland and towns. The leader we had (Rocio) is knowledgeable and thoughtful and kept us well-informed about the itinerary. She also had good recommendations for evening meals and cafés. The hotel was delightful, with excellent breakfasts, quiet rooms, a rooftop bar and a swimming pool. As an introduction to walking in the Eastern Algarve and the local traditions this was lovely - you have to budget for extra meals out during the day, which sometimes felt excessive for someone who usually does self-catering hols like me, but it did make for a very relaxing time.

The tour director and tour guides are very helpful and knowledgeable that’s why this was my second time with Trafalgar and will definitely book my third one with them. The hotels were great and conveniently located. The included meals were also delicious and diligently planned

Best of Portugual was fabulous. I feel I got to know the country and many of its special places. The pace was busy but included rest times to make the most of our journey.

It provided a full overview of several of the key areas in Portugal. I had asked for both an urban and country experience and this trip provided it. Depending on one’s walking ability they may find it difficult in some areas due to the unevenness of the stones on the sidewalks, gardens and old, historic places.
