The trip was thoroughly enjoyable and richly educational. The daily rain shortened some of our activities, but it never dampened the enthusiasm of our incredible CEO, Bruna. I learned so much about Portugal and its history from Bruna and our local guides (especially Samuel). Time spent in villages and the countryside offered opportunities for insights that touring the main cities never could provide. The food and wine during provided meals and tastings was wonderful and added much to the overall experience.
Everything was great, but traveling as a single, my roommate snored, making it difficult to sleep. My guide helped me but I had to pay for a single room, which I had not budgeted for. Trips are expensive enough without having to pay for a single room. Next time, can I secure a roommate who doesn’t snore?!
Wonderful.
A memorable trip across geologically, historically, and culturally important parts of Portugal—beautiful landscapes and friendly people. Not a lot of encounters with other tourists. We had a fabulous CEO and wonderful local guides. A week that produced great pictures and treasured memories!
Wow, this was our first G Adventure experience and it will definitely not be our last! We loved the small group dynamic, enjoyed the history and architecture in each of the unique areas we visited, the hiking was very approachable (we're not seasoned hikers), the views and vistas were pretty spectacular, the food was local, delicious & diverse and of course the Douro wine was wonderful :) We look forward to exploring other countries with G Adventure.
An ideal balance of city and countryside, walk through medieval towns and village hamlets as Portugal steals your heart on this 8-day active discovery. A feast for the senses, savour the regions' delicious food with fresh, local ingredients and hike along the vineyard and olive grove-laced landscapes of the Douro Valley, with pit stops to sample some of the delicious wines and delicacies of the region. Finish in Porto as a final course to cap off the perfect week. Rich in history and culture, experience Portugal as never before.
