day 1 - Lisbon Arrival

Welcome to Portugal! Upon arrival at Lisbon International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or begin exploring the city on your own. This is a great opportunity for solo travelers to get acquainted with Lisbon’s vibrant streets and warm atmosphere.

day 2 - Lisbon

Today after breakfast at hotel, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Lisbon, a city rich in history and culture. Begin in Belém, where you will visit the 16th-century Monastery of Jerónimos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue with a stop at the historic Belém pastry factory, dating back to 1837, where you will taste the iconic pastéis de Belém. Then, stop at the striking Belém Tower for photos before returning to the hotel. The afternoon is free at leisure for independent exploration. You may choose to visit Sintra, the most romantic Portuguese town and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While there, solo travelers can enjoy a stop at the famous Piriquita coffee shop to sample traditional pastries such as Travesseiros and Queijadas. Optional tours may also be available.

day 4 - Fatima - Aveiro - Porto

In the morning after breakfast, explore Fátima, a major Marian worship center. You will have time to visit on your own and may choose to explore Aljustrel, a hamlet on the outskirts of Fátima. This small village is the birthplace of Lucia dos Santos, Francisco, and Jacinta Marto — the three children who experienced the apparitions of the Angel of Peace in 1916. Continue to Aveiro, often called the “Venice of Portugal,” with its canals and colorful boats. You will have free time to discover this charming city at your own pace. We recommend a Moliceiro boat ride along the waterways to admire the Art Nouveau buildings and salt pans, or sampling the delicious local pastry, Ovos Moles.

After breakfast, begin your day in Porto, a city set along the Douro River and famous for its history, culture, and nightlife. In the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour that covers the main attractions of the city. Discover the historic Ribeira district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with narrow streets, traditional houses, and riverside views. The afternoon is free for solo exploration. You will have the chance to explore this remarkable institution (entrance not included), which was once a royal palace. Its historic library, considered one of the most beautiful in the world, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy free time to walk around Coimbra and soak up its vibrant student atmosphere before continuing to Lisbon. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for your final night in Portugal.
