Iceland Trekking and Hiking Tour Reviews

Honest insights from past guests on our Trekking and Hiking Iceland tours

Excellent

Great experience! Felt like an all-included (except for alcool) resort where the main activity was hiking! Very relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable, for those who like hiking! The driving day procured a more in-dept view of Iceland and some key areas to look at.

Excellent trip

A great trip, each day was quite different. Amazing scenery. Walking is all on good tracks. If you like obsidian then there is lots of it on the route. There is a nice natural hot pool at Landmannalaugar. The Flybus transfers work well so it doesn't matter when you arrive. We had an extra day to fit in with our flights - plenty to do in Reykjavik - we went whale watching, shopping on rainbow street, swimming at the geothermal swimming pool.

Stunning scenic walking!

An amazing walking experience in some of the most spectacular and awe inspiring scenery. Photos really don’t do it justice! Camping isn’t my favourite accommodation but the scenery and experience made up for it. You do need to be prepared to do your bit with food prep, washing up and packing up each day but that helps the group bond. Loved the trip and would highly recommend it.

Excellent

I could write or talk about this tour for much longer than a single paragraph. In short, the tour was run extremely well. Michal had all of the details figured out and we didn't need to worry about anything. He arranged little extras for us like visiting the sheep farm to see the new lambs. His connections with the locals were evident. Between the wonderful people, the spectacular scenery, the deliciously fresh local food, and the delightful accommodations, we quickly came to appreciate this beautiful place of rugged tranquility. We will be going back!

A Magical Trip

Iceland is a magical place! We had a fabulous time exploring different parts of the island, and had a well-curated list of attractions and experiences. Our travel agent put together an excellent itinerary for our very active family, with lots of varied options to choose from. He also made himself readily available for questions, and handled a near-crisis beautifully when our upcoming accommodation had a plumbing problem - he re-booked us at a fantastic hotel before we even knew there was an issue. I would have liked a trip summary page simply with location names, drive times, recommended visit timing, and map links (note that these items were included in the longer, detailed itinerary). However, as we discovered, Iceland is very easy to navigate. Our accommodations were excellent, and restaurant recommendations were spot-on.

The Best Family Trip

Our travel expert planned out an amazing trip for my family and didn’t leave out any details from the car service at the airport, wonderful hotels, tours and activities that fit me and my husband and our two teenagers. We only had 6 days in Iceland and every day was well planned. We had a wonderful guide and he was thoughtful about what we needed during our 4 day tour with him. He went out of his way to add in stops along the way that were special to our family. We felt like we got a “locals” perspective on Iceland, it’s people and history which we would not have received if we were driving ourselves. This really made the trip special.
