Reviews of our Iceland Tours for February
Feedback from guests who toured Iceland during February.
Loved having porter service for large luggage - not having to drag it down non bus accessible streets. The tour director, Rosalinda totally made the trip fun, educational, enjoyable, entertaining- gave us quiet when we needed it, kept us on track, but nice personality and professional. Needed more time at museums, less at waterfalls . The Vik hotel was clean but basic- some hand railings on outside steps needed. Center hotel was great , but rooms facing bars on Main Street a little nosy. Staff at all places and our driver were fantastic
Darko was an excellent tour guide and I believe truly enjoys his job. He talked the exact right amount (not too much)-he adjusted with things we were required to adjust to and substituted very enjoyable events for things we could not do because of weather. He was funny, very personable, and was able to laugh at some of the goofy things about Iceland (we all have goofy things in our homeland)-I can’t say enough good things about him-don’t let him get away from you. He’s the best!
On a day when the weather forced us to abandon our planned tour, our tour director had special offerings for us within the hotel, and he substituted unexpected and wonderful offerings on other tour days.
This was my first experience with Explore as a solo traveller. I throughly enjoyed this trip and although there was a lot in the itinerary, everything we did was at a good pace. Our tour leader Einar was incredible! His knowledge and passion about Iceland was incredible. It’s not always guaranteed that you will see the Northern Lights but we were incredibly lucky to see them when we stayed at Hotel Gulfoss which is a great location as there is no light pollution. Iceland is expensive but I would say it’s totally worth it. This is a holiday that will stay with me and felt it was a real adventure. I absolutely loved it.
We loved the itinerary, Tour Manager, Bus Driver and sights. What a fun trip! Knowing the goal was to see the Northern Lights, we went in January which was cold and dark. We were able to see the lights three different nights and made the most of the limited daylight hours. The waterfalls and glaciers were neat. Loved the Blue Lagoon!
Well organized, with comfortable accomodations and transportation. Excellent tour guide and driver. Meals were excellent for the most part with one hotel breakfast somewhat limited in selection and quality. Other tour participants were very pleasant throughout the journey. Appropriate gear is necessary - expect cold temperatures, rain, snow, and near constant wind. If you are prepared with the right clothing, you will love the tour and all of the stops along the way.
