An excellent itinerary taking in most of Iceland, with an excellent leader who was a fund of local knowledge, both fact and myth. We were lucky to have good weather with clear views of snow-covered mountains, and clear nights with visible aurora. The food, though pricey, was to a high standard, especially the fish soup on Hrisey. As well as the included visit to the Forest Lagoon we had the opportunity to enjoy the public swimming baths in Reykjavik and Akureyri, and hot tubs in some of the hotels.

Our tour guide Vala was informative and entertaining throughout; mixing descriptions of the scenery, historical information, mythical stories and the occasional bit of her own poetry. The itinerary shows you aspects of Iceland that you may need a month to cover if you were to plan it yourself. We were blessed with good weather throughout, but there was always flexibility built into the schedule depending on conditions and adventurer capability. I thoroughly recommend this experience.

We really enjoyed the Island but the air travel to Copenhagen from Boston and the return to Copenhagen to Atlanta was ridiculous( not to mention the Cancelled flight and overnite stay and missed tour).Which was all booked thru Insight

Einar an Icelander was an excellent well informed and considerate guide . One of the best we have had on an Explore tour .! We really enjoyed sight seeing with our group of 9 people around Reykjavík , the waterfalls, the Lava Centre, Reynisfjara beach , Gulfoss and the Northern lights , geysirs and relaxing in the hot water of the Secret Lagoon. Hotels comfortable and clean with good breakfasts. Great experiences , good photographs and memories . .
