Reviews of our Iceland Tours for January
Feedback from guests who toured Iceland during January.
Einer Thosteinsson , our guide was super enthusiastic about his homeland The tour was well planned, we went to all the major sites without being rushed The hotels were all very good if a little overheated I knew we weren’t going to be met at the airport so that was no problem but I would have liked an introductory meeting either the night we arrived or before we clambered onto the coach the following morning, I missed the small sign on reception that gave the first meet-up time Otherwise a superb trip
Our bus driver and tour manager were outstanding. The highlights for us were Sky Lagoon Spa and Seven Step Ritual, as well as visiting the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. We also saw the Northern Lights most nights, which was fantastic.
From the time we landed in Reykjavik until we departed our tour guide antonija did an awesome job. Everything was organized and when things didn’t go as planned she made sure that there was a backup plan. We loved everything about Iceland but the northern lights on New Year’s Eve were the most magical thing I had ever seen. We cannot wait to come back in the summer to see the difference in this beautiful country.
Our favorite memorable experience was made even richer and more enjoyable because of our excellent tour guide, Antonjia, who was a great story teller, immersing us and teaching us, not only about Iceland as an island geographically, but as a people with a rich heritage and culture. She made us fall in love with the people, their culture and their land. That is why our most memorable event was even more impactful when we joined the locals of Vik on New Year’s Eve for a bonfire and fireworks by the black beach. The ‘raison on the end of the hot dog’ was an amazing northern lights show later that evening.
It was a great experience and I look forward to signing up for another trip in the future. We were well taken care of. If you’re traveling solo, I would highly recommend G Adventures.
The trip was magical. It was a really easy beautiful way to see Iceland. There’s no way I would have been able to organise that on my own or known to stop for so many stunning waterfalls.
