Our tour guide, Einar, was incredible and was very knowledgeable and passionate about Iceland. He did a great job with keeping us on track with the itinerary and packing in lots of amazing activities and sights. This was absolutely a trip of a lifetime and I can’t wait for another Iceland excursion!! Throughout the experience, there were some delays with hearing back about certain requests from Explore, but ultimately matters were resolved. The accommodations were lovely, particularly Hotel Gullfoss, which was very welcoming and accommodating.
Everything was perfect about the trip but the most important thing was the tour leader Einar. He could not be bettered - an amazing person, knowledgeable, got us immediately (and we were quite an unusual bunch!), was funny, took us to local places that meant something to him and his family. Brilliant.
Had a great time, and my tour guide was lovely. Got to see and do some fantastic things (would recommend doing the FTAs) and the coach made moving around Iceland safe and easy. Given how dark it was and how iced the roads were, this tour was a great way to see Iceland. We were able to see the Northern Lights in Iceland, but this isn’t a Northern Lights tour; it’s very weather dependent. Only notes I’d have for this trip are the optional activities are not really optional, as you will be left on the coach until the activity is done; there is nothing else in the area for you to do during these activities. The glacier hike was manageable for those that don’t regularly hike, but if you don’t have good boots with ankle support you will also have to pay to rent shoes. The hostel we stayed at in Reykjavík was also inconvenient at this time for airport transfers due to construction happening; no hostel pick ups possible, so I’d take care when booking flights to pick a convenient time to catch a bus and arrive at the airport on time.
This was my first solo trip and my first time using Explore! It was a brief tour but it allowed me to get accustomed to the tour experience. Our tour leader, Einar, was exceptional. He made the trip both educational and entertaining. Einar shared his Icelandic heritage graciously and answered all of our questions with kindness. Our group was a wonderful mixture of ages and personalities and we blended very well. We even got to see the Northern Lights! 😊 I highly recommend this tour and look forward to my next adventure with Explore!
Honestly I really enjoyed everything. But if I had to pinpoint a favourite I think it would be how often we saw the northern lights. Due to the extreme weather conditions - a blizzard in October, we saw them almost every night which I think makes us really lucky, as I was expecting it to be much harder to see them. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the adaptability of our day plans by our TM and Driver when we needed to be kept safe, and had delays to departures on some days due to snow, icy roads, and strong winds - we still managed to see everything we would have in the end and made some surprise pit stops too! I was super stoked with the glacier hike, but it would be even more incredible if it was longer. The only way I think this trip could be improved would be to have the start time earlier so the first day is actually a full day, and start the travel straight away! Why do we need to stay in Reykjavík on the first and last night? It could easily be changed to make the trip feel like you see even a tiny bit more.
My experience with our Bali trip was truly exceptional!!. The tour guide (Saepul) warmth, knowledge, and genuine passion for sharing the beauty of Bali made every moment unforgettable. Each day was thoughtfully planned, blending iconic sights with hidden treasures and authentic local experiences. Our guide’s attention to detail and personal touches made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout the journey. I left Bali with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for its culture, all thanks to an outstanding guide who made our trip truly special.
