Reviews of our Iceland Tours for March
Feedback from guests who toured Iceland during March.
There is an Icelandic saying "Petta Reddast" which means that 'it will all work out'. I believe that everything worked out so very well with our tour was the result of our tour guide, Marianne (and our bus driver Robert). She went far above and beyond what a typical guide would do. We had a flight delay, a snowstorm and bus malfunction, but we still got to see and do everything we wanted and had a wonderful time! If I am ever back to Iceland, I would request Marianne again.
So much to see and do. Stellar tour director Antonia and stellar bus driver Olivia made it so much more pleasant and thorough. This was my first Colette tour but I would definitely use them again for my travels.
Varied activities. We visited lots of different places and saw wonderful sights, including the northern lights 3 times! The weather limited some activities but this was managed well by the guide and driver. Unexpected trip to the hospital was also managed well. We particularly enjoyed the brewery tour, the super jeeps and the thermal baths. A great holiday with fantastic memories.
Enjoyed the tour despite missing the Northern Lights. The hotels and food were great. Our tour director and bus driver were excellent. Luciana was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Iceland. My favorite spot was Glacier Bay and I found the history of the Icelandic horse to be most interesting.
While the Northern lights didn’t cooperate, we really enjoyed our tour! Luciana our Tour Manager and Marek our bus driver were terrific! Luciana’s knowledge and fun personality really made our tour both informative and fun! Marek was a great driver and very accommodating! My favorite par of the tour was Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Seeing seals sunning themselves on blue tinted chunks of ice was really cool!
The trip was surely magical from the start to the very end. Our tour guide Gulla and bus driver Fussi both kept the tour interesting and informative with their local knowledge and kept it light with their sense of humor. It’s almost impossible to pick a favorite moment, all sites were impressive and unique. But what stuck out for me the most impressive was Skaftafell National Park, diamond beach and glacier lagoon. Diamond Beach has these large pieces of glacier ice scattered all over the black beach sand. Glacier Lagoon, is shimmering so bright and blue in the sun, the seals are enjoying sunbathing in the distance.. This is one of those trips where pictures don’t do justice, The hotels were each so different, one right smack in the center of Reykjavik and the other literally in the middle of nowhere. I loved both and the contrast between the sceneries. I know for sure this was my 1st trip, but not my last with Collette. Thank you for this incredible experience!
