Reviews of our Iceland Tours for March
Feedback from guests who toured Iceland during March.
Great trip. Except the information re the fly is was incorrect. You have to change at the bus terminal to get to the hotel. It doesn’t go straight to the airport as I was told prior to going.
First holiday in three years for us and a different style too - we usually go on trekking/activity type holidays so a 'tour' was all a bit different. Had a great time, Iceland in March is impressive and the tour covers the whole island and visits all the 'classic' sites.
A thoroughly enjoyable tour of this majestic island. Our first day out took us to some of the tourist hotspots – the huge Gullfoss waterfall, geysers, the growing fault line between the North American and Eurasian continental plates and the site of their 1100-year-old parliament. Thereafter our 1000-mile journey around the island was largely free of other tourists (it was February). The snow conditions were good (it covered the island, but wasn’t too deep for walking), with little rain (probably lucky for the time of year). Our only challenge was the wind, which did curtail our itinerary when we got to the west of the island.
Our "Stelkur" trip was great, and our guide Sylvi was awesome! He shared so much information with us as we toured his beautiful country about its geography, history, culture, etc. Hiking through the eastern fiords was amazing - unspoiled beauty and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Just to say we were very impressed with our afternoon Golden Circle Tour. "Rock" our guide was fantastic, informative and had a great sense of humour. Our driver Tomik was great too and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. The transfer was on time and we were very happy with everything. Thank you! Kind regards, Lindsay Neal
This was an excellent tour with super, friendly guides/driver and a sight to behold. It was worth spending the extra money to get a luxury coach too - more leg room and general comfort with less passengers. We were picked up from our location on time (BSi Bus Terminal). We stopped at one location, saw subtle evidence of the lights after about an hour and then got driven to another area close by where the magic unfolded. Spectacular "dancing" aurora! Hot chocolate, prosecco/water and a special Icelandic doughnut with smoked fish was also provided. The guide took pictures which she plans to email to everyone, so don't worry if you don't have a decent camera. Well worth it, the best tour so far!!
