Iceland Northern Lights Tours

Our tour manager was fantastic as was our bus driver. Although we had weather issues, they did everything possible to complete our tour as planned. We only missed one site and it was due to the Ring Road being closed due to weather & wind.

It was an amazing trip. Villiam our tour manager did a great job, we saw everything advertised and we had enough down time to do some exploring on our own. Even our bus driver did a great job in our new Mercedes bus :-) keeping us safe on the snowy roads and getting us to all of our planned stops.

Starting off with the Northern Lights was amazing and ending the trip with the Blue Lagoon was perfect! Iceland was a magical place with friendly people and beautiful scenery! The record snowfall we experienced just made the trip that much more memorable!

This was my first solo trip and my first time using Explore! It was a brief tour but it allowed me to get accustomed to the tour experience. Our tour leader, Einar, was exceptional. He made the trip both educational and entertaining. Einar shared his Icelandic heritage graciously and answered all of our questions with kindness. Our group was a wonderful mixture of ages and personalities and we blended very well. We even got to see the Northern Lights! 😊 I highly recommend this tour and look forward to my next adventure with Explore!

The tour was excellent until weather caused a major problem at the airport. Snow on the last day closed the airport and cancelled all flights. We had made our own flight reservations so we worked thru the problem with much difficulty. Iceland Air tried to deal with the problem but it was too much for them. We landed up paying twice the fare to get home. We have filed an insurance claim. Through out this disaster the tour guide provided transportation and a hotel room which were wonderful considering that the entire island was experiencing the same problems caused by the snow fall. This support allowed us to solve the problem and get us home. I loved the tour, Iceland is a great place with wonderful sights to see. The Diamond Beach, the water falls, the glacier and the Blue Lagoon were top memories. The only thing missing was any interaction with the locals. We had one local guide and she was great but many tours we have been on make an effort to engage the local population.
