From Valleys to Victory: My Unforgettable Nubra Trek!

My first high-altitude hike - the Nubra Valley trek - and all I can say is WOW! With Valerie Parkinson as our tour leader, we were set up for an unforgettable adventure from day one. The incredible cook, knowledgeable guides, and fantastic camp crew made every moment a joy. If you’re thinking of exploring the Nubra Valley, you simply can’t go wrong with this trip. The only challenge now? Deciding on my next adventure!

I recommend Seven Wonder Tours

The tour was perfectly organised, in a fairly short time you can see a very large number of sights. It was a surprise to me that this was actually an individual tour. For that price, this format is miracle, at the same time, all the guides are russian speaking, which was also pleasent.

The best trip ever!

I visited India in March 2025 to see its beauty for the first time in my life and I was deeply impressed as i saw a lot of colours, nice people and cultural sites starting from the very first day of the trip. I saw a lot of unique places, made a thousand of photos and hot soo much impressions that I still can't realise all of them.

The thought of a week in India was a little daunting but Explore had a great itinerary that was superbly organised. Great hotels, knowledgeable local guides, a very safe bus driver and most of all a fantastic leader, Neha, gave me and my daughter an experience that will stay with us forever. The tour was an absolute bargain taking in the main sights of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur together with some less known attractions along the way. Highly recommended, will definitely be going back, hopefully for a bit longer.

Very interesting and impressionant tour of India with Seven Wonder Tours

I went for a trip alone with Abhinav (seven wonder tours) and it was amazing. In few days I visited so many beautiful places in so different cities. I took a lot of beautiful pictures and souvenirs for my family. So far it was the best tour of my life. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Planning tips for solo travelers to India

Safest destinations in India for single travelers

Traveling solo in India offers immense rewards—rich cultural connections, breathtaking landscapes, and deeply immersive experiences—but it also demands honest awareness, particularly for women, LGBTQI+ travelers, and people of color. While genuine hospitality abounds, unwanted attention, staring, or street harassment can occur, especially in crowded urban areas or tourist spots. White travelers, both women and men, might find themselves the focus of persistent curiosity, which can feel intrusive. LGBTQI+ travelers should also approach openly queer spaces thoughtfully, as acceptance varies widely, with discretion advisable in most public settings. To enhance safety and comfort, consider places known for progressive attitudes and welcoming atmospheres: Kerala’s tranquil backwaters, where women-led homestays foster supportive communities; Goa’s coastal towns, bustling with inclusive guesthouses and vibrant queer-friendly venues; and Rajasthan’s Jaipur and Udaipur, featuring boutique hotels with women-run spas and guided tours specifically designed for solo female travelers. Choosing structured, group-based tours, using trusted transportation services, dressing conservatively, and trusting your instincts are essential strategies for a safer, more enjoyable journey.

Cost of traveling to India alone

India remains one of the most cost-effective destinations for solo travelers. Budget-conscious individuals can manage daily expenses between USD 20 to USD 40, which includes stays in hostels or budget hotels, local meals, and public transport. Mid-range travelers might spend USD 55 to USD 90 per day, enjoying boutique accommodations, diverse dining options, and occasional domestic flights. Bookmundi offers structured India solo trips starting at USD 150 per person, covering accommodations, transportation, and curated experiences. Those preferring private rooms should be prepared for single supplement charges, which depend on the specific tour and lodging choices.
