Reviews of our Turkey Tours for Spring
Feedback from guests who toured Turkey during Spring.
This tour is perfect for anyone who wants a bit of everything: history, culture, relaxation, and amazing food. I appreciated the pace, as there was enough time to visit major landmarks without feeling rushed. The guides and drivers made sure everything went according to plan and that we had all the support we needed. By the end of the tour, I felt I’d experienced the best of both countries and am already considering returning in the future.
During the Greece portion of the tour, our guide made us feel like we graduated with a degree in Greek history! Although I can’t remember their name, I’m grateful for all the knowledge shared. In Turkey, I’d like to give a special thanks to our driver, Halil; he was polite and an excellent driver. The hotel services and food were also of good quality. My favorite spots during the tour were Pamukkale and Athens.
My cousin Andy and I finally made our long-planned trip to Greece a reality, and finding a tour that also included a cruise and Turkey’s top sites was the icing on the cake. We’re so glad we booked this one!
Experiencing Pamukkale and Cappadocia was like stepping into another world. The unique rock formations and hot springs of Pamukkale, combined with Cappadocia’s fairy chimneys and vast open landscapes, made each stop feel surreal. Greece added a whole other layer with its incredible music and delicious dishes—I couldn’t get enough of the traditional flavors. As for Athens, it stood out as my favorite city. There’s something magical about being surrounded by so much history and culture. Thanks to the team for this unforgettable journey.
This was a very good trip and most enjoyable. The scenery was weird and wonderful and the rock-cut dwellings and churches were always interesting. The walking was of modest pace and duration but, in view of the very hot weather and strong sun, this was fine. One needed to be quite sure-footed on some of the steeper descents and I suspect that these would not suit everyone. I would maybe have liked a bit more variety in the walks, most of which were along valley floors. The hotel was excellent and did a great breakfast every morning. Our tour leader and guide, Aykut, did a very good job, as did our somewhat taciturn driver. The one included dinner was very disappointing; there seemed to be nothing local or characterful about the restaurant and the food was poor. Our brief visits to the underground city and the Goreme open-air museum seemed unpleasantly busy and touristy after the relative solitude of the walking. Perhaps some alternative sites, a little off the beaten track, could be found instead? The tour group was large (15) but full of interesting people and everyone got along well.
There are so many positives to mention about this tour, but for me, the itinerary tops the list. Exploring these beautiful, almost paradise-like places felt rejuvenating, making it as relaxing as it was enriching.
