Such an amazing experience. Our guide was exceptional as was out driver. They looked after our every need and advised on places to eat. I love that Explore support the local community. Nice range of hotels, smaller and more intimate. Amazing history. Sailing was my favourite day! Gallipoli was very sad. Istanbul was amazing! Ephesus was huge! The group was small and we all got on really well. No stress at all. The perfect adventure! Such an insight into an amazing country. Thank you!

This is a great holiday. I've walked the Lycian way a couple of times and love Turkey. The walks were shorter but very interesting every day with a chance to swim most days and fantastic walks in the mountains and forests. Food as always was really good usually vegetarian. We were also taken to small farms and villages and local houses where the meals were fantastic. Hotel was small but comfortable with a pool and amazing breakfasts. Bar and breakfast room had lovely views over the sea towards the greek islands. Nebil the guide was excellent, kind, well informed and judged the pace for a varied group really well. Early October the weather was usually perfect to walk and warm. However we had one day of heavy rain so take a waterproof.

What a fantastic trip. This is our second walking-type trip with Explore and is was just as well run and thoughtfully designed as the previous one. The trip pace was as I expected based on the description - lots of daily walking, with a little down time for exploring or relaxing in the evening (or morning, if you are a morning person). Most days we started hiking or driving to hiking location at 9 am and finished between 3-5 pm. I really appreciated that the tour leader (Aykut) had a lot of experience and was able to shift around activities to avoid crowds. He was really good at explaining what to expect for the next day (and several days in advance, where relevant) so that we could plan for bringing/not bring our hiking poles, packing extra snacks or water if we weren't going to be near a town, dress for the next day's weather, etc. I do think having the hiking poles was helpful for many of the days, so I am glad I brought them. A few days we stopped for a mid-day break at a location with restaurant options, one day was limited to one option (in a national park: but really, really good food for the sole option), and a few days we packed picnic lunches. If you are thinking about doing this tour, and like walking (moderate level most days, with some hills and some downhill and flat stretches), and love really unique scenery and history, I would highly recommend this trip.

This is a brilliant cycling holiday. I particularly liked staying with a local family in a hill village and eating delicious home cooked lunches in local's houses while in the hills. It is the hilliest group cycling holiday of the many "moderate" cycling trips that I have done. An ebike option would make this an even better holiday. We went in mid September and the weather was cool in the hills and lovely and warm by the coast. Our leaders Tarkan and Ali were excellent and chose excellent restaurants for evening meals. Recommended.

Unusual for an Explore trip stayed in same hotel all week. That made it more relaxing and that if a person didn’t feel like walking that day they could relax at the hotel. The walks were varied and interesting. It was only the first day walk that was an effort because it was a long uphill stretch. The on hour balloon trip was very nice. The wine tasting was very good. The Hamam was very good.

Turkey Group Tours

Whether you are looking to tour the highlights of Turkey in a small group of no more than 15 people or prefer to share your holiday experience with a large traveling party, we can make it happen. Here are some of the best group tours of Turkey:

Turkey group tours based on budget

  • Luxury group tours in Turkey: Luxury group tours in Turkey mean that you can stay in the finest hotels, enjoy private and luxurious transfers between locations. If you fancy a champagne sunset filled with hot air balloons over Cappadocia, or a crowd-free, private tour of the Hagia Sophia, with luxury group tours, this is all possible. If you are traveling in a small group you will likely stay in five-star hotels with concierges and opulent facilities.
  • Budget group tours in Turkey: Traveling on a shoestring? Budget group tours might be the solution you are looking for. Travel experience and benefits of Turkey group tours

  • Travel with the same people all around Turkey. This way you can build relationships and friendships for life.
  • A lot of places like the Temple of Hadrian need tickets in advance for a specific tour slot. Group tours guarantee entry in line with a predetermined itinerary.
  • No more hauling your luggage around busy cities and between rural bus stations - group tours mean porters and transfers between all the different locations.
  • The worst thing about traveling solo or in a group of three can be the inevitable single supplements that cost a small fortune. Group travel around Turkey means that you will be saving money along the way.

Tips when doing Turkey group tours

  • Make sure you make a note of your minibus or car registration number. There are a ton of group tours in Turkey, and a lot of the buses can look the same.
  • When visiting mosques in Turkey on a group tour, including the Blue Mosque, remember to respect the culture and religious conventions.
  • Tours will leave without you if you are not back on time. Make sure you set alarms when you are on different excursions.
