Istanbul Tours and Trips

This was my second trip with Explore and my first as a single traveller. I would highly recommend. I loved everything about the trip apart from the transport which was uncomfortable for the lengthier drives. The ancient cities we visited were very impressive and brought to life by our friendly and very well informed guide, Mert. The boat trips and time spent in the bazaars and at Gallipoli were highlights. I think all of our friendly group of 6 would have welcomed an additional day with the tour guide in Istanbul.

The itinerary is comprehensive with great variety. I especially enjoyed our visits to ancient ruins and beautiful mosques. I also did both optional experiences - hot air balloon watching and Turkish cooking session - which were fantastic. The hotels exceeded my expectations - beautiful and modern, with incredible breakfast and dinner buffets. Last but not least, we had an amazing driver (Şakir) and tour director (Barcin) who took excellent care of us. Barcin is extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful storyteller. He also has a terrific personality and kept our spirits up during the intense 2-week trip. Very happy with the tour and highly recommend it!

Definitely worth visiting Turkey with Trafalgar. Amazing history, cuisine and culture. The travel director is very knowledgeable, experienced and excited to share it all, and make your trip a memorable one.

The Hot Air Balloon over Cappadocia rock formations! Underground Christian city! Great chance to discover a different country than I imagined. Super tour guide shared her insights. Community street cats are beloved, friendly, and well-cared for.

We had a memorable trip - I never knew or expected the beauty of Türkiye. Berna was the most patient, knowledgeable, and witty manager one could have asked for. The two optional experiences The Hammam and the hot air balloon ride) should not be missed. Both were wonderful experiences.

It was a great exxperience visiting so many varied cultural & histirocal sites in Turkey. The scenery in Cappadocia was spectacular. I loved the lesser known sites of Sagalassos in the Taurus Mountrains & Aphrodisias. Our guide Jakop was very knowledgable & passionate about the history & his country. He was always humouress & helpful. As was our driver Volgi & we felt safe over the sometimes long distances. The only negatives are that the visit to Ephesus could be improved so that timing does not co-incide with cruise ship visits & the hotel day 12 at Salihli should be changed as it was out of town with nowhere to walk to & next to a noisy highway. You see so much on this trip, I would recomnend it.
