From the stunning Topkapi Palace to the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia to the mighty Grand Bazaar, Turkey is full of amazing sights ready to be explored. Our Turkey sightseeing tours are the best way to see all the big hitters, from cultural icons to historic sites to natural wonders. If you like exploring by foot, why not book a tour of Ephesus? With all the major sites, including the Temple of Artemis and the Library of Celsus, located close to each other, a walking tour is a great way to check out these landmarks whose history is rooted in ancient Greece and Rome. Alternatively, take an Antalya sightseeing tour to see ancient icons like Hadrian’s Gate, built to commemorate the visit of Emperor Hadrian, and Hidirlik Tower, a structure whose purpose is still a mystery. Turkey Sightseeing Tour Reviews
Honest insights from past guests on our Sightseeing Turkey tours
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the cultural and geological history of the area and was very passionate and proud to share his knowledge with the group. It is clear that he knows the area well and cares deeply about it and was always keen to offer information and advice in order that visitors to Cappadocia can get the best experience possible.
An easy going walking tour of a wonderful part of Turkey, at the lower end of moderate i would say but enough to feel that you have benefitted from the length of the walks. Great scenery and fascinating history staying in a really nice hotel with fab facilities and a brilliant view especially of the balloons ascending in the early hours ( worthwhile getting up before dawn to view them). Had an excellent group which always makes a difference on any trip
Very good Trip-Guide Necip was great, went above and Beyond. Excellent Hotel-Zemi, great staff. Overall, great trip. would recommend. With a Few suggestions. Would be very helpful to post a Message Board at the Hotel. We ran in to some issues with the initial evening Meeting being at a different time due to flight delays and late flights. That wasn't clearly communicated to us. It all worked out but some didn't know the time had been changed. Would be helpful to clarify lunches on certain days. It was a little confusing on some hikes whether we were supposed to bring something or if we would be able to stop somewhere. Maybe have the hotel offer box lunches on those days as an option. Not just this trip but on all trips-it would be helpful if the whatsapp Group chat could be set up prior to that first day. You have all our Numbers-People could accept before the trip starts if they wanted to. But it would be a good way to communicate with the group if any changes were made prior to that first meeting.
Used explore a few times over the years, and this trip was one of the better ones. Brilliant leader, lovely hotel and amazing location. 11 in the group so a sensible size. The walking was superb, and included were many cultural experiences, particularly the balloon flight on Christmas day. My partner and I stayed on for two more nights in Goreme, then three more nights in Istanbul to get an enhanced Turkish experience.
Walking in Cappadocia is the perfect way to explore this unique and special landscape. Walking between rock formations made by a volcano eruption 10 million years ago was an incredible experience. We also enjoyed eating at the different restaurants in Göreme and at the village restaurant. I would recommend the casserole rather than the manti. We also enjoyed a sunny afternoon in Avanos searching for that perfect pot! Our guide Aykut was knowledgeable and good fun. I loved it all.
What a fantastic trip. This is our second walking-type trip with Explore and is was just as well run and thoughtfully designed as the previous one. The trip pace was as I expected based on the description - lots of daily walking, with a little down time for exploring or relaxing in the evening (or morning, if you are a morning person). Most days we started hiking or driving to hiking location at 9 am and finished between 3-5 pm. I really appreciated that the tour leader (Aykut) had a lot of experience and was able to shift around activities to avoid crowds. He was really good at explaining what to expect for the next day (and several days in advance, where relevant) so that we could plan for bringing/not bring our hiking poles, packing extra snacks or water if we weren't going to be near a town, dress for the next day's weather, etc. I do think having the hiking poles was helpful for many of the days, so I am glad I brought them. A few days we stopped for a mid-day break at a location with restaurant options, one day was limited to one option (in a national park: but really, really good food for the sole option), and a few days we packed picnic lunches. If you are thinking about doing this tour, and like walking (moderate level most days, with some hills and some downhill and flat stretches), and love really unique scenery and history, I would highly recommend this trip.
