Far Exceeded my expectations. Walking the Remote Coastal Trails in Portugal was an absolutely amazing adventure, with breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, dramatic coastline, sea stacks, arches, and lighthouses galore. This picturesque hike along some of the most spectacular shoreline is a Photographers delight. Our lodging in the small town of Sagress, for the week, was sublime. Quaint coffee shops, excellent dinning options, several beaches, a fishing port and market, and historical fort/museum made for the perfect location. Our hotel, Casa Azul, was quaint, with very spacious well decorated rooms. Their hearty delicious breakfast saw us well prepared for each days activity. Ester is an Exceptional Guide. Very professional, knowledgeable, adaptable, and informative; she provided daily hiking briefings, detailing the terrain, millage, conditions, pointing out the best beaches, vantage points, hidden gems and most importantly… coffee stops. She ensured we were all ready for our daily treks by monitoring our physical and mental state throughout the week. Her light smile masked her real strength in managing/coordination our trip, expertise in hiking and climbing, knowledge of the area, geographical formations, historical accounts of the areas, and multiple languages; all provided indispensable as a guide. Her easy demeanour, made her a delight to all hikers and people we encountered including other tourists, local business, and even shepherds in the field. Adaptable; she adjusted our starting location due to hazardous condition on a trail, providing for our safety. Storytelling; while having our picnic lunch in a narrow ravine out of the wind, Ester retold an adventure, both humours and nerve-racking attempt, to climb an ice mountain. Ester displayed a genuine passion for her life and role as a guide..

La Gomera is an excellent place for a walking trip - if you like steep paths and great views. The hotel got all the essentials right and was very conveniently located in San Sebastian. There are many good and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. We had a great mix of people in the group and the leader was professional, well organised and personable. Another very enjoyable Explore trip.

Our 12-day self-guided tour from St Ives to Mevagissey was everything we hoped it would be! The scenery was so dramatic, and the path was rugged and challenging, the views from the cliffs of the water and the sky were delightful and gave us peace and a sense of wonder. Our accommodations were wonderful, and we ate some very good food at them. We had a long year of personal loss, and it was the best place to help us heal. We are never disappointed when we travel with them, they are always just what we need.

I was expecting beautiful scenery on the coast but the beauty of the area exceeded my expectations! The hiking was enjoyable, not too difficult or long. Our hike leader Ester was wonderful as expected. My husband and I purposefully picked this trip because of Ester. She was our guide on our Camino trip last year so we knew we would be in good hands. She’s fun, energetic, organized, knowledgeable and excellent at taking care of a group. As far as accommodations, Casa Azul was perfect! We loved the family atmosphere, the location, cleanliness, and breakfast. This was our 3rd trip with Explore and they have all been great!

Loved this trip, perfect time of year for walking, great group and our guide Nebil was amazing. Attentative at all times, friendly, knowledgeable, funny, kind. Everything you'd hope for. Thank you so much.

Nabil was the perfect explore leader. Nothing was too much trouble and on the one rainy morning he rearranged the day and we had a perfect time on our boat trip and swimming in 2 beautiful bays. The Staff in the accommodation were truly wonderful and made us feel very welcome. I had the perfect break away from a hectic work life.
