Walking the Corfu Trail (South)

We'd so enjoyed Walking the Corfu Trail - North previously that we returned to walk the south and we were not disappointed. The trail is great and takes you away from most of the main resorts into a more hidden Corfu. It offers a mix of coastline, hills and villages with wonderful views and we enjoyed the flora and fauna encountered along the way too. I cant say that some stretches were a bit demanding but the good natured guide and group helped us all along! Accommodation was fine, some offering more frills than others, but all entirely adequate for a trip like this. The guide, Spiros, was excellent, managing the group well, offering practical help and support as well as his insights into Corfu’s history and culture - he really made the trip a success!

An amazing way to explore Corfu, and Spiros’ energy and enthusiasm made it even better. We learnt so much about the island, the butterflies, the flowers and so much more. Moving around each day, staying mainly in family run hotels & apartments, was part of the holiday - everyone we met was so welcoming and friendly. We’ll definitely return next year to do the North part of the trail.

A superb holiday if you love walking. All the accommodation was comfortable and at times better than expected. Our guide, Spiros, was superb. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife and we loved him sharing his passion for the countryside with us. He knew the good Cafes and restaurants to take us to- even where does the best coffee- all these small tips were very helpful. We walked at a good pace, which is what I wanted in this trip. We often ended the day with a swim in the sea. It's a perfect way of seeing the island, at a slow pace, and taking time to notice all the beauties of nature.

Spiros was one of the most knowledgeable & thoughtful guides I have experienced. Corfu is certainly a beautiful island. My only feedback would be that the accommodation was mixed.

Tour leader Spiros is very passionate about Corfu, the environment, and creating a good experience. Very attentive to group needs, including ours personally. He really made the experience for us. The trail is pretty rough in a lot of places being on broken concrete and rocks. It wasn’t what I expected, but this is the nature of at least the southern part of the Corfu trail. The accommodations were basic and sometimes a little rustic, which I think was fair for the price. We encountered heavy rain the final day. I think there should be clear options presented for how to shorter or modify the day’s activities for those that may want to alter the itinerary.
