It was fantastic. Our tour manager was excellent. at this time of the year, there is a Christmas market on practically ever street. The hotels were all excellent. It met all of our expectations for a Christmas trip.

Hard to pick a single favorite experience because there were so many great experiences. The food, the palaces and cathedrals were fantastic. So much history! Touring the wineries was a lot of fun as I had no experience with the wines we tried . It was fun to learn about Port and Rioja wines. The Douro Valley ( wine region ) was gorgeous. Staying at the winery hotel was an experience, the views of the terraced hills was amazing!

We had a very nice group of people in our tour group. I have too many memorable experiences but staying in Stresa was very nice and you could walk around the town and see the area. Florence was beautiful, the villa was very nice we stayed in and the cooking class was great and a beautiful home/villa. I would recommend this trip to others.

excellent tour and our guide did an outstanding job. Our Coach driver never missed a beat, luggage and transportation to and from hotels and tours was seamless.

Italian Escape was an amazing fast paced trip with free time add ons which immersed you in the culture of the locals. We also had an incredible tour guide who was very calm, attentive and did his best to get to know everyone and ensured each person got to make the most out of their trip. Along with the social aspect of contiki, we got to see and do a lot which was worth the investment into the trip.

Hi Explore, I think I counted that was my 21st Explore holiday. The hotel was in a great location near No 48 bus to Monte and 1 and 2 buses to Funchal. Also near the Lido and a supermarket. The only problem I found with the hotel is that you could not turn the air conditioning off at all - it was set so that it came on periodically during the night to refresh the room which woke me up with cold blasts. I had to put the two blankets on my bed. Also, I found the mattress too hard. Apart from that the staff were friendly and helpful. Philip our guide was great, a bit more info about loos when we stopped would have been helpful. I could not always hear him when standing with the group, his voice did not carry and you had to be very close to him to hear what he had to say, probably also something to do with my hearing maybe! I would have loved to have had more time to visit the orchid garden at Boa Vista near to the Botanical gardens but time ran out. It is only open on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday according to the hotel.
