Honest insights from past guests on our Active outdoor Peru tours

Nilton, our Tour Leader in Peru was Excellent! He was always very organized but always very understanding and accommodating to the Group. Juan, our Tour Leader in Quito was Excellent! However, Juan had a hard time with all the variables associated with going to the Galapagos Islands, starting with Avianca Airlines, the always changing weather, and the restrictions from the Galapagos Rangers. We had 5 Galapagos Experts during our 5 days on the Galapagos Islands but 2 of them really stood out and were Wonderful! Shout out to Diana and Mayari!!!

We wanted to see Christ the redeemer, iquazu falls, the gauchos, and machu pichu. This was achieved as well as much good food, Maras salt ponds, Cusco, and many llamas and alpacas.

Great tour with great leader. Peru is a huge country with several different climes and geographical areas as well as multiple indigenous peoples and cultures. This trip manages to cover a great deal of these places and contrasts. Be prepared for lots of early starts and long journeys but the reward is seeing amazing landscapes, meeting lots of interesting people and eating some great food. The trip is a carefully planned to help you adapt to the altitude. Accommodation was a very high standard overall.

This was a great trip. The transfer from the airport to the Amazon was well organised and efficient. The accomodation and facilities at the EcoAmazonia lodge were excellent. The lodge complex itself was extensive including a large bar, games room and swimming pool as well as many covered to sit and relax. The individual rooms were well equiped and had hot water for showers and electricity 24/7. Internet was only available in the bar/ dining areas but this was very adequate. Meals were excellent with a variety of dishes provided throuhout our stay, and the service was fast and efficient. The complex is large and probably has a capacity for 150 guests, so there are many different groups staying, from many cojntries as well as smaller individual groups or single people. There is a plan for the trips available during your stay, longer trips 5 to7 km in the mornings and shorter trips in the afternoons ( 1.5 hours) so you get different trips each day. The guides are excellent and speak many languages, so not a problem if you are part of a larger group. I would definitely recommend this trip.

The itinerary was very good and included a lot of different and interesting locations concerning Inca history. The route was well thought out with time to acclimatise to the altitude at Araquipa, befor continuing ro the higher levels of Colca Valley , Puna and Lake Titicacca. We felt the impact of the altirude on some of the walks, but the guides were careful to make rwgular stops and take a pace that suited all the group. Hotels and food was excellent throughout the trip. This was definitely a moderate to high paced trip , with early starts to see many places, although the benefit was often an early night! I would definitely recommend this tripto those who are moderately fit ( walking) and like exploring .

The outstanding aspect of this wonderful hike was the planning of the campsites. We stayed largely in smaller campsites out of phase with the 200 other hikers joining the trail every day so one would not have known there were so many people on it. The exception was the final campsite which was unmissable given its views over the Andes and clouds. The other advantage compared with the average tourist is the walk down into Macchu Pinchu, I had previously visited there on a tour and the experience was infinitely better this way.
