day 1Cusco – Soraypampa – Humantay lake – Soyrococha

We will pick you up from your hotel very early in the morning, and drive for about two hours to Mollepata town, the main town before the beginning of the trek. From there, we drive another hour to Soraypampa (3,880 m/ 12,726 feet) from where we will start hiking.
After a few hours of hiking up, we'll reach Humantay Lake, located at 4,500 m. It’s a beautiful lake located right at the skirt of the snow-capped mountain of Tukarway. After enjoying the amazing views we’ll come back the same way to Soraypampa, where we’ll have a nutritious lunch.
After lunch, we hike up to our first campsite, following a highland valley trail that inclines gradually for about three hours. Our campsite is called Soyruqocha and is located really close to Salkantay Mountain, at an altitude of 4,450m/ 14,596 feet.
Once at the camp, we will have our tea time of biscuits, popcorn, hot chocolate, milk, coffee, or a variety of tea. Shortly after we will have our dinner.
