Reviews of our Peru Tours for December
Feedback from guests who toured Peru during December.
This was our first time with Exodus and we are already looking for our next trip. Essential Peru was an amazing adventure packed with sights, sounds, smells and experiences that would be hard to beat. We saw so much and experienced everything from thunder and rainbows at Machu Picchu , to haute cuisine, to historical sites, high mountain passes, thousand year old plants, vicunas, llamas, and alpacas, sailing on Lake Titicaca, staying with a family on Amantani Island, hiking, and condors.
This was my first visit to South America, and I quite enjoyed it. The first week was a bit too fast-paced for me, but I'm glad I pushed through and made it to the end. I loved my time in Bolivia, and look forward to exploring more of South America in the future.
Stellar travel experience that pushed me beyond my own limits, provided opportunities that would not otherwise been achievable, while still providing me the confidence in being safe. The experience was well beyond what I anticipated, and delivered to a level that impressive.
This was my first time in South America, and honestly, this tour was everything I hoped it would be and more. I was a bit nervous doing it solo but the small group setup made it super easy to meet people. The itinerary was well-balanced between structured tours and free time. Cartagena was absolutely beautiful like stepping into a painting. The Coffee Triangle was a surprising.. got to try some of the freshest coffee I’ve ever had. Bogota cooler, more urban. The views from Monserrate were incredible. Then we flew to Peru, and Machu Picchu... I still don’t have words. It was emotional. The guides were amazing and knew so much history. Lake Titicaca was peaceful and surreal. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone who loves a mix of nature, history, and culture. Take altitude sickness seriously, though — drink the coca tea!
Loved it!! This was an excellent well organised adventure. Lima Tours did a great job on the ground - good attention to the little things and keen to ensure we experienced as much as possible. Our guide in the Sacred Valley and Inca Trail, Ever, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the culture and history of the area and very focused on ensuring we got the most out of our experience. He was super patient and kind with the slow people (me!) and his gentle humour and encouragement got me through the tough wet days 2 and 3. Without his constant reassurance I might not have made it! I was in awe of him and all the porters who made up our crew. They were fantastic. Everyone should do this!
This was, without a doubt, the best trek I’ve ever done! Starting with two days in Cusco, a city that’s not only beautiful but full of history and culture – I loved having the time to explore, and our guide offered fantastic recommendations for delicious Peruvian meals. The Inca Trail itself was incredible. Every day brought stunning views, and there were soo many Inca ruins along the way! Day 2 (Dead Womans Pass) was definitely a challenge but so rewarding once reaching the top! I was surprised by the quality of the camping, it was far better than expected. And the food – wow! The chefs prepared three-course meals that were absolutely delicious, and on the final night, we were treated to fresh-baked cake and mulled wine to celebrate – it exceeded all my expectations! Overall, the trip was perfectly planned from start to finish. An unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit Machu Picchu!
