This was our first time with Exodus and we are already looking for our next trip. Essential Peru was an amazing adventure packed with sights, sounds, smells and experiences that would be hard to beat. We saw so much and experienced everything from thunder and rainbows at Machu Picchu , to haute cuisine, to historical sites, high mountain passes, thousand year old plants, vicunas, llamas, and alpacas, sailing on Lake Titicaca, staying with a family on Amantani Island, hiking, and condors.
G adventures is very organized organization and if you want to be impressed by local and even remote culture of Highlanders in the Andes, this is top notch. Again, this tour was largely made by our tour guide Leo. He was phenomenal for us, and for me personally.
Just loved it. First class all the way. The only day it rained was our trip to Machu Picche and it was still magnificent. Am 78 with impaired eyesight and this was last item on the "Bucket List"...scored 10/10. Could not have wished for better trip. Guide was best ever, accommodations were superb, and thoughtful/educational itenerary was unbelievable. We travel a lot and this was our first trip with Trafalgar. You have certainly earned our respect.
I would highly recommend our recent trip to Peru and to Bolivia, along the Southern Divide in South America, going from Lima to Santiago. We enjoyed making our journey with our multi-aged and multi-national fellow travellers. Highlights of our trip included: riding the old-fashioned trains of Peru Rail to the start of the Inca Trail, viewing the beauty of Machu Pichu, climbing Rainbow Mountain, exploring colonial Sucre, taking photos on the Salt Flats near Uyuni, crossing the Bolivian desert in a 4X4, seeing live volcanos and geysers and lots of wildlife (e.g., llamas, alpacas, guanacos, vicuanas and vizcachas) in the wild.
Very happy, the tour was mostly as expected, travel was mostly smooth and we got to see and do lots of things in a month which was amazing. One thing I would rate low is the booking experience, website was down, multiple people I spoke to were completely lost (one was very helpful and she’s probably the reason I booked because I was about to give up) the itinerary disappeared afterwards and when I contacted you I spoke to another completely lost person who was massively unhelpful. no one thought to give me heads up that i need to provide evidence of onward travel for Peru and I almost didn’t make my plane, etc. overall I would say your guides on the tours are very organized compared to the people doing the bookings and providing support and you should definitely work on that.
What an amazing experience! It was all fabulous - from Machu Picchu to Lake Titicaca! The people were welcoming, kind, & helpful! Collette knows how to bring folks together to share life experiences in the best way possible!
