Introducing Peru
Peru offers a wide range of options for travelers who want a customized tour beyond the glossy travel brochures of Machu Picchu. As well as including world-renowned attractions such as the Inca Trail and the archeological city of Cusco, a personalized tour to Peru allows you to swap the Andes Mountains for lodges deep within the Amazon rainforest without a problem. You can also add the unforgettable rail journey between Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes to your Peruvian adventure before taking in the Incan treasures at Pisac.
Get in touch with one of our local travel experts and we will do all the hard work involved in creating your tailor-made dream vacation.
When to go to Peru
The months from May to September are considered ideal. Occupying the country’s dry season, these months are when skies are clear and temperatures warm. The weather is also very amenable from October to December and there are fewer crowds in Machu Picchu. However, if you have your heart set on testing yourself on classic hiking routes, January to April is best avoided since the rains become heavy enough to close them down. Learn more.
How long to stay in Peru
A seven-day adventure in the country will get you along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, but to see more of the country you will need a trip lasting between ten days and two weeks. The extra days will give you the time to do anything from summiting Rainbow Mountain to sharing a pisco sour with the locals of Lima. Learn more.
Must-visit destinations in Peru
The piece de resistance for any Peruvian adventure is a journey to Machu Picchu, especially if it is made via the Inca Trail. But a personalized holiday in Peru also gives you the chance to delve into the jungles of the Amazon, explore the culture of oft-ignored Lima and admire the beauty of Lake Titicaca’s reed boats and floating settlements. Along the way, we suggest including time with the condors of Colca Canyon, and flying above the mysterious Nazca Lines. Learn more.
