Itinerary
For travelers seeking a true pilgrimage experience, the "Full Le Puy Camino" tour package offers the rare chance to walk the entire French Way of St James, from Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, over an immersive 40 days. This self-guided walking journey traces the legendary Via Podiensis, a route traveled by countless pilgrims since the 9th century, and covers 38 destinations in France, including Fichous-Riumayou and Saugues. Along the way, you'll encounter a fascinating tapestry of Romanesque churches, monasteries, and historic villages, creating the feeling of passing through a living museum of medieval art and culture.
The route also features the scenic Célé Valley variant—a quieter stretch between Conques and Cahors known for its preserved natural beauty and abundant heritage, winding alongside rivers and beneath dramatic cliffs. With accommodation, meals, and transport thoughtfully arranged, this private trip provides both comfort and flexibility for experienced walkers or senior travelers eager to undertake a moderate, yet rewarding physical challenge.
What sets this tour apart is the opportunity to complete the entire French Camino in one continuous trip—ideal for those who desire the full pilgrimage rather than a single segment. For those unable to devote the full time, shorter self-guided stages are also available, making the adventure adaptable to your schedule. Experience the profound history, spiritual resonance, and scenic splendor of France as you walk in the footsteps of centuries of pilgrims.

This was my third Le Puy Camino and would walk it over and over again. The natural beauty, distinct changes of regions and with this also changes of culture, natural environments, food and interesting people, all contribute to the uniqueness of this walk and of France. Most of the accommodations and their hosts are welcoming, generous and comfortable. Knowing that I could trust every aspect of my walk from luggage transfers to comfortable accommodation after each day's journey, served to make the experience perfect.
Fantastic trip! Well organised and everything went smoothly. Would probably split the two big 30+ days if I were to have my time again. The heat adds another level of difficulty. Accommodations were all different but all clean and welcoming. Meals were varied as we walked into different regions the food changed to what was local. We never had a bad meal or a bad stay anywhere. Highly recommend this trip through France. A nice quiet Camino compared to the Frances but far more challenging. Very enjoyable.
