This was an lovely wander from Vineyard to château to hilly forest and medieval village and small town. A combination of relaxation, good walks and moderate challenge. The accommodation was comfortable and welcoming.

I followed the instructions regarding labeling my luggage precisely but even so my bag still didn’t show up on the first day. Travel light should be stressed as many hotels involve hauling your bag up many flights of stairs. Lifts are rare. Meals were mostly excellent.

The Western Front trip was well put together, distances each day allowed plenty of time to visit sites and contemplate the history involved. The route was well prepared with GPS making it pretty hard to get lost or confused. Support was great with good bikes and communication. A slight issue with a bags arriving a bit later than optimal underscores their advice to carry a change of clothes with you in case you get the hotel before them. An extra day could easily be taken (offered)in Ypres as this area, which would allow time to visit the Ypres museum and visit other significant locations of interest not on the loop. A really good trip.

This is the third Camino that my wife and I have hiked a section of and it did not disappoint. We hiked from Le Puy to Conques. The scenery was beautiful and they delivered everything as promised. The accommodations were all located well, they were clean and our luggage was waiting each day. The GUIBO app worked very well, although I think that some more data around daily landmarks and items of interest could be loaded in to help with planning things such as food and water for the coming two days. Having the demi pension worked very well as restaurant choices were very limited in the small towns that we traveled through. We also thought they did a great job in breaking up the stages to manageable distances making the hiking very pleasant. This was our second trip using them. They are a class act and we look forward to using them again on future trips.

We did the Footsteps of Dali trip. Communication was great from the start. Transportation, accommodation, and meal arrangements all worked well. Nice to have route options to fit with the level of energy for the day.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the contrast of a few days in the Black forest and then the amazing Towns of the Alsace. The riding was well paced through beautiful country, with the occasional tough hill to keep you honest. Hotels on the whole were good choices with friendly staff. The bikes were ideal for the terrain.

With so many amazing things to see and do in France, it can be difficult to pick just one or two tours. So we’ve picked some of our favorite private France tours for your inspiration.

  • Private sightseeing tours of Paris: Take the City of Lights on a private sightseeing tour and learn more about the history of this celebrated city. Get your fill of culture and learn from a private guide in the Louvre before hitting Pont du Carrousel quay for a private riverboat ride to the Eiffel Tower, taking in a unique view of this worldwide icon!

Tips for private tours in France

  • Remember to tip your guide. Although not always expected in France, a private guide should be tipped between USD 10* to USD 20 per day.
  • Ask your guide for the best recommendations for restaurants in the area. They’ll know your taste and vibe, having been with you all day, and will have unique local insight.
  • Make sure you try and learn a little bit of French. Although your private guide will sort everything out for you, a polite bonjour or merci will go a long way.
